Anaya's P.O.V

I groaned as my alarm rang. I grabbed my mobile. What time is it? 07:00. Why do I feel so tired? God my head! Why does it hurt so much!? I stood from my bed and felt my muscles aching. I sigh and literally dragged myself to the bathroom. I sneezed as I took a look of myself in the mirror, I realized that my face was awful. My eyes were red and puffy, my nose slightly red and my lips looked dry and slightly cracked. After my usual morning business, I walked to the kitchen where I gave Snoopy his kibbles. I took a bowl of cornflakes and milk. I put a spoon into my mouth an swallowed it with difficulty due to that swelled throat of mine. I couldn't eat much of my breakfast, I threw the food away. Despite hating the wastage of food, I didn't feel like having the choice. I walked back to my room where I took a bath and dressed into a grey blouse, black pants and also black heels. I didn't put much make up except pink lip balm and some concealer, to make my face look less like a horror.

I glanced at my watch and it was 08:30. Fhat the wuck?! I'm gonna be late if I don't hurry. I grabbed my stuff and rushed to my car. Thankfully, I was able to reach the office in exactly 25 minutes. I walked into the building and then to the elevator.
"Hey girl!" Nick said. He was standing next to me, waiting for the elevator too.
"Hi." I told him before coughing. It's getting worse.
"You don't look well." He said in a worried tone. Before I had the time to reply him, his hand was on my forehead. "See, you are having fever!"
"It's just a slight flu. It's viral." I told him.
"Sawyer, ask them to get the lifts checked. I think it is, for employees to chat in front of it." James interrupted.
I only rolled my eyes. Nick looked a little amazed by reaction, I could see him holding a smile or a laugh.

We were in the elevator along with Mr Arrogant and his bodyguards. I sneezed in the elevator and Nick chuckled before mumbling a little 'bless you'. I punched his arm which made him chuckle even more. We both stopped as we heard someone clearing his throat, and stood still. We knew that it was James. Finally, the elevator stopped to our floor. I walked out and so did Nick. We then walked to our department.

I started working on the files that were on my desk. After like ten minutes, I heard the phone ringing.
"Hello." I said as I took the call.
"Good morning, it's Mr Rollins personal assistant. Sir is calling to his office." A woman said.
"Okay." I said and disconnected the call.

I stood from my chair and went to his office. Unlike last time, I wasn't feeling much tensed. Maybe the flu symptoms numbed a few emotions.
I knocked the door.
"Come in." A husky voice said.
I opened the door and walked in.
"Miss Khan, good morning." He greeted me.
"Good morning, sir." I greeted back.
"Well, I will be giving you a test today." He said as stood from his chair. I felt a bit weird in his presence.
"What is it?" I said wondering what he is up to.
"Complete this for me. You have till this evening to submit this work to me." He said gesturing to pile of files. It was enormous, it look like the workload that I complete in two days!
I thought for a moment. I must not let him know that it's too much for me. I should be able to do it, not because it's an assessment or I'll be scoring marks on it but just to show him that underestimating me. "Of course sir. I'll return you this by this evening." I said with a smile.
My reaction not being unnoticed by him. "You may take the files." He said as I walked past him. I could feel his intense gaze on me. The files were so heavy but I somehow managed to lift them. I sneezed which I'm sure caught his attention, he looked at me for a moment but didn't even bother to say 'bless you'. What a gentleman is he! I walked out of his office.

I was back to my desk with those stupid files. Actually, it's not the files which are stupid but rather the person who asked me to work on it.
I had completed a quarter of it and it was lunch time.
"Wanna have lunch with us?" Rebecca asked.
"No, I'm fine. You go ahead, I've got so much to complete." I said pointing the files.
"Oh! Do you want something?" Avanthi asked.
"No thank you. I'm not so hungry." I said with a smile.
"Okay then! Best of luck with your workload!" Rebecca said. Both Avanthi and her left after that.

I was still working on those files and didn't even notice that the office was nearly empty. I glanced to my watch and it was 18:30. I felt nauseous, maybe due to my empty stomach. My neck had an agonizing pain. I had only one file to fill. I opened it and as I looked at the content, I saw the words starting to blur. I closed my eyes for a moment and reopened it, this time, my vision was slightly normal. I really wanted to finish this and go back home. I completely forgot to bring some pills along with me maybe it would have substituted the pain. I completes the last file and sigh. 
"Finally." I said as I removed my glasses.

I got up from my chair but soon regretted it as I fell backward. Fortunately on my chair. I felt my legs being slightly numb and hard. I relaxed for a couple of minutes and stretched them, it was a little better. I stood up and grabbed the files. Then, I walked to the elevator. To my horror, it wasn't functioning. Great! Just Great! I had to take those infinite stairs. God! Please help! I sigh and opened the door that leads to the stairs.

I walked up to the next floor and realized that the pile of files were slightly lighter than it was when I brought them from the Devil's office. Holy shit! I forgot two files, I'll have to go get them back. I really hated myself right now for this stupid mistake.

I looked down to the staircase and felt a weird sensation, as if the stairs were moving. My head started spinning. I tried to get hold of something and fortunately, my hand landed on the handrail. All the files fell down, I tried to shout for help but my voice didn't come out. My body started shaking uncontrollably. What's happening? I felt something on my lips and as I touched it, it was blood, from my nose. My heart is pounding and I can't breathe. What's happening to me? My body went numb all of a sudden.

An acute pain went through my body and after that, everything went black.
