Derek and Savannah just laid there, trying to fall asleep in each other's arms but it seemed like neither of them could sleep. Savannah could hear Derek's heartbeat, it was a bit high and like loud drums in her ears. But none the les, she stayed quiet and just laid there in Derek's embrace.

"Can't sleep either?" Savannah whispered after a few more minutes of just sitting there in complete silence.

Derek laughed slightly, nodding his head before Savannah turned around to face him, still entangled in his arms. The two of them silent as silence surrounded them, both saying nothing as they stared into each other's eyes. Savannah felt her own heartbeat rising as she was scared of "wolfing" out (a term Scott used for her yet no one still knowing what she is) in Derek's arms. She was scared of hurting him, hurting anyone. But Derek promised he would help her and if there's one thing she's learned..

it's Derek will keep her safe.

She's read the journals, she's heard the stories, and she's seen the images in her head. She still isn't quite sure how it happens but there's times where she'll make contact with someone or just stare at them or even think of them and she's suddenly siphoning their memories or seeing something that hasn't come to pass yet. She's scared of this ability, it scares her because when she uses it..

it turns her into something, someone she's scared of.

No one, and I mean, no one should have the power to mess with people's minds, steal their memories. She hated it but there were moments when she didn't mind it, because it proved to her and showed her who she could really trust. And right now, she was siphoning Derek's memories...

Laying there in his arms, touching his skin and staring into his eyes, she unlocked his mind. It was like she was seeing his memories and it put a small smile on her face. She saw images of the two of them, fighting and yelling at each other, talking, smiling. There were some pretty harsh memories and some really good ones. Good memories that made her sure that Derek was like her family now and she was his. They were each other's best friends now, family, and support system. They have a bond that cannot be matched with anyone else's.

then suddenly she saw and felt his pain, heartache of seeing her with Stiles and some other guy she only recalls as Lydia pointing out as "Isaac". She saw images of herself smiling up at Derek, running into his arms as they hugged each other closesly and she suddenly felt it in her chest. Everything stopped, she didn't hurt or feel pain or feel sad. It was like being in each other's arms, at least in the memory, stopped the hurt. And what she saw next, it hurt a lot to see and feel it through Derek.

She saw herself laying there in a pool of her blood as Derek held her close in his arms. This was the moment she died. Savannah heard Derek was the last person she saw, stayed with her and tried convincing her everything was going to be okay. She felt the pain and saw the images of her taking her last breath before dying in Derek's arms.

Savannah gasped, slowly moving her hand away from Derek as he looked at her confused. He tried asking her what happened but she assured him it was nothing, to which she knew he didn't believe. She kept insisting she was fine, just tired and it was hard to shut her eyes without nightmares plaguing her dream world. But staring into Derek's eyes, it was like something changed. It was like how she saw and felt it for him, being in his arms made the pain stop for a split second. And she was so grateful for it...
