Epilogue

❝  We were always meant to say goodbye...❞

After everything that happened, everyone was going their separate ways. Derek was leaving Beacon Hills, fully transformed and ready to finally start living his life. And Savannah knew this. Which is how the two of them found themselves standing in the distance, looking out at the open desert in front of them. 

"Are you really leaving?" Savannah asked, scared cause she already knew the answer. 

Derek nodded his head, slowly looking over at her. "I am..My time in this town is over. I want to start living my life now that I know I have one..And I should be there for Cora, she is my sister and one of the two only blood relatives I have left." 

Savannah bit her bottom lip, nodding her head. "I know..But I wish you didn't have to leave but I understand why you have to.." 

Derek let out a small laugh, looking over at Savannah with a hopeful look. "I don't suppose you would like to come with me?" Derek asked, despite already knowing the answer to his question. 

Savannah gave Derek an apologetic look, shaking her head while tears formed in her eyes. "No..I want to but..-I can't leave Beacon Hills yet. It might not have been my home but it is now..And I can't leave it..Or Scott or Liam or Lydia..-" 

"..-or Stiles?" 

Savannah sighed, having a guilty look on her face. "I'm really sorry.." 

"Don't be. You made me feel things I didn't think I could ever feel again after losing my family. You were a friend, more than a friend..-you were my family. Thank you for being there for me and I will love you no matter what. I'm always going to be there for you whenever and wherever you need me." Derek offered her a small smile. 

Savannah bit her bottom lip, taking a deep breath as she held Derek's hand in her's. "I love you..." Savannah whispered, staring up at Derek. 

Derek had a small smile on his face, slowly shaking his head. "No you don't..not the way you feel about Stiles..but thanks for saying it. " 

"I didn't mean to hurt you, you're the one person I never wanted to hurt.." Savannah whispered, taking a deep breath as Derek wiped a tear from her eyes. 

"I know but I should have known better...Your heart would never be mine since it always belonged to someone else.." Derek said. 

"I don't think Stiles and I could be the same..at least not right now. Not since he lied and especially not since he's with Malia..I want him happy, I don't want to ruin it. He said it took him months before eve beginning to think about trying to find some way to move on.. If he's happy with her, I don't want to ruin that." Savannah sighed. 

"Is that why you lied?" 

Savannah looked at Derek confused. "Excuse me?"
