Savannah was wheezing, gasping as she struggled for air and to move. She just laid there, feeling herself slowly healing as she felt her skin on fire. It was nothing like she had ever felt before, she felt like her skin was on fire but not only that. It was like it was hardening.
Savannah pushed those thoughts aside when she heard foot steps in the distance. She tried moving, calling for help but she couldn't. Nothing came out accept for more blood forming on her lips, staining them red. She felt tears trailing down her face, just laying there and hoping someone would find her soon.
After who knows how long, Savannah finally heard someone opening the door to the loft and thanking that someone would find her. But the familiar sound of the heartbeat let her know who would be the one to stumble upon this horror.
"Savannah? Savannah!" She heard Derek yell as he ran over to her, carefully holding her head in his lap. She was still wheezing, struggling for breath as Derek held her in his arms.
"Hey, hey..what happened? Who did this?" Derek tried getting his answers but Savannah was to weak to talk. Derek's heart was beating so fast, she was scared he was on the verge of having a heart attack. And he was. "N-no..No, not again. You can't die, no-not again..I-I..we just got you back.." Derek's voice broke as he kept brushing hair out of her face and trying to clean the blood from her mouth.
Savannah slowly started blacking out as she listened to the sound of Derek's heartbeat, listening to his words. She felt Derek place a kiss on her forehead, whispering how everything was going to be all right. And she suddenly started seeing flashes through her mind once more. But these weren't images of horror that scared her.
These were entirely different.
In these flashes, it was her and Derek. There were images of her and Derek talking, smiling softly at each other, him taking away her pain, him helping her come back from the darkest of times. It was their friendship, their bond.
And seeing these relaxed her enough to let her black out without any thought of being scared.
