It had been two hours and Grace had realised that, she had told Jake to go back to school, as he resisted at first, but left to go. Instead of going to school or back home, Grace made her way towards the station.
As she had entered, she was about to go to her office when she'd spotted SO Blake already inside, Grace reeled herself back against the wall.
"...what? That's impossible. I'm pretty sure, Grace wouldn't have had a meeting with The Attacker. I mean we don't even know who he is." SO Blake's voice was heard.
"I'm sure you're right, Blake. But I must show you something." Grace moved her head slowly to the door as she peeked in a little.
The computer was switched on, as there was footage being played, from yesterday's events. There was a man standing there as he was showing SO Blake as she stared at the screen with curiosity and with her analysing skills.
She had her brows furrowed as she was watching everything. Awhile later, SO Blake stopped furrowing her brows and exhaled through her nose lightly.
"Well, Cumberbatch. I know Grace. I know how she is like."
"Then you'd probably know that she'd be capable of doing this." The man responded.
"I think you are starting to doubt my work. You really think that Grace would've done this. I highly doubt that." SO Bake spoke with full confidence in her voice.
"If I knew Grace, she would've never been there. This is child's play." Cumberbatch looked taken aback before regaining himself.
"If that's what's you think, then so be it." He paused. "Just remember, to have a word with that misfit."
"I suggest you stop talking." She announced with a low tone. "No one talks about my staff like that, especially being Grace. She may have joined the force a few days ago. Don't forget that, without her the force would've never dug up many details about Marcus Kowel. The main culprit to those attacks a week ago." SO Blake kept her coolness.
"What? Are you trying to say that you think Grace is the true cop and everyone else isn't?" Cumberbatch spoke with narrowed eyes.
"Your words, not mine. Besides, without the force and Grace we wouldn't have been the best force in Adenview. So, before trying to say anything about my staff again, I promise you, you won't think twice about who you mess with Cumberbatch." SO Blake intimidated Cumberbatch as she took a few strides and stopped at the desk.
"And who you talk about." Cumberbatch and Blake had a standstill moment glaring at each other no one backing down.
The intensity that was clearly shown throughout their eyes showed that each of them held power and that they both weren't going to back down. They must have some bad blood with each other, probably rivals?
Grace leaned back as she exhaled through her nose, already fed up of this rubbish, that she'd been dealing with the past few days. Today, she'd better place her head forwards and at least make her way to catch some answers.
Pushing her body towards the exit as she pulled up her hood, hearing a few gasps as she ignored the few staff members. Making her way onto the streets, Grace sauntered across the streets with her hands in her pockets as she made her way to the place, where she knew she'd get her answers.
'Rob's Place'
Staring at the sign board for a few seconds, Grace headed towards the door as she entered. The usual smell of coffee or cologne hit her strong as she dismissed it. Passing by people as she took a seat where she had entered in last.
Nodding to the waiter as he recognised her order, with a curt nod he started to grab her drink. Grace stared at the desk, lowering her head as she saw some encrypted message.
'I love you'
Rolling her eyes as she felt someone slide into the seat next to her, Grace's drink placed in front of her. Tango; as she placed a five dollar bill down into the tips jar. She may get her food for free but she did give tips for the place, it was a great place where everyone could be neutral without starting a hazard. That's why she had always given some change to keep this place going, as most of the money went to charity.
"I see you're back, Grace." Grace looked ahead as her head was down, not moving her head.
"Did you find anything new?" Bob spoke as Grace shook her head.
"What do you know about The Attacker so far?"
"Well, like you had said, 'Vulture' and that he's always attacking at night." Bob nodded his head.
"Interesting. This guy is truly insane. Whoever they are, they sure know not to leave any clues behind." Bob spoke as his drink was placed down.
"You're not at school?" Bob asked.
Grace averted her eyes to Bob, as he spoke.
"You look like a teenage girl. Assumed." He shrugged.
Grace shook her head at Bob's words, she saw emotions flash through his eyes: worry, concern and curiosity.
"Why? Had an argument?" He asked taking a sip of his drink.
"Something like that." Bob placed his drink down as Grace was playing with the metal part of the can at the top.
"You wanna talk about it? I may be someone new to you, but I heard it's better to talk to someone about whatever you have bottled up in there." Bob tried to prove his point.
"Whatever you're worried about, remember that whoever you're arguing with, they care about you. I'm guessing it's a family member," he arched an eyebrow, "I know what it's like, but if you keep blocking them out, it doesn't get any better." Grace looked up.
"It only gets worse." Grace looked at Bob. "The only way to make things better is console them which I'm guessing is the last thing you will do. Just remember Grace, no matter what, family are family. Cherish them. You don't want to lose them." Bob sipped his drink with sorrow filled words.
"Are you alright?" Grace asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, just cherish your family. I can only tell you that. No matter the fights you have, you need to figure it out. It's the best thing to do." Bob smiled at Grace as she nodded her head.
"Anyways, I guess since we keep meeting, I should be the neutral messenger. I tell you what I see."
"In exchange for what?" Grace asked, already knowing business.
"For- for you to be my friend." Bob spoke sincerely.
Grace stared at Bob and slowly nodded her head after a few long seconds.
"Great, partner." Bob extended his hand out. Grace looked down as she raised a brow.
"Let me guess you don't work with with others well?" Grace kept silent. "That's cool. Friends?" He extended his hand out.
Grace kept her hand scrunched into a ball as Bob looked confused before realising what he'd have to do. He had done the same gesture and bumped fists with Grace as he smiled.
"Hey! I got the hang of this." Grace shook her head as she nodded her head along.
"Okay, I've got something for you." Bob spoke as he leaned close.
