"Well, well, if it ain't my favourite girl." Grace gritted her together, as she could make out this figure clearly.

It was the same person who had kidnapped her and shoved into the janitor's closet, Jack was staring at the man as well, in confusion.

"How are you, Grace?" The man asked her as Grace didn't respond to it.

"Ah, silent treatment, eh?" He chuckled slightly.

"Very well, I see you have a new friend." The man looked at Jack as Jack was confused but curious at the same time.

"Nice to meet you, Jack. I'm Damien," Jack was slightly surprised by the fact that this man knew his very own name.

"How do I know who you are? Simple. I know everyone around this city. Just like Grace." Grace scrunched her brows.

"But that doesn't mean, I know deeper secrets than your friend over here." Grace and Jack both looked at Damien with curiosity. What did he mean, exactly?

"This town. Adenview. It was known for the beauty of the scenery, the wonderful people. That however, changed. I'm guessing sixty years ago." Grace and Jack were both listening very carefully.

"This town had it all, the love, the respect. You see, Adenview wasn't always like this. Always filled with gangs that weren't harmful. However, it changed sixty years ago." Damien spoke as the wind blew gently.

"It changed so badly, that the citizens of Adenview were considered terrible. They were always lurking around for trouble. Always up to no good. Everyone noticed it, well those who had the brain to notice these odd things." He paused.

"Nobody knew what was happening. Nobody could tell why this was happening. They were too busy seeing the bad side and not even notice any goodness or even wander why this was occurring. You may be thinking what am I talking about?" Jack and Grace nodded their heads slowly.

"I'm talking about attacks." Grace swallowed.

"People were moving out of this city not to the neighbouring cities, but far from that, some even moved countries." Damien spoke as he stared at the two teenagers.

"Everyone lost hope for this city, except for one person. One woman, to be precise." Damien spoke.

"Natalie." Damien swallowed a lump that formed in his throat, the thought that crossed this name began creating memories that he didn't want to hear.

"Natalie, was a wonderful person, she was a student, she wasn't the brightest but she definitely wasn't stupid either. She was always wonderful and lovely. That changed, it caused a rift between her sisters. She changed for the worst, her grades slipped, she became a bad person, that's what people thought. People were scared of her. She was less words and more action. Remind you, of anybody?" Damien looked up as Jack glanced at Grace who had looked to the side before turning to the two.

"Natalie, wasn't very wise, but as soon as she'd heard about all of this, she knew she had to do something. She was always considered 'a girl, a teenager' even, 'a misfit'. No boys thought she could do anything good. Anything dangerous. They thought girls only cared for the glamorous world. She wanted to prove that girls were powerful, just like men — perhaps even beyond that. She wanted to stand out, even though she was still considered a child, she pushed all of that immaturity straight to maturity. If that meant she had to go back to her old habit to get the answers out of people, directly she didn't want to, but some times she did." There was a small silence. "She wanted to prove everyone wrong."

"Did she do that?" Jack asked slowly.

"She began working, she was searching for clues, she was searching for answers. Answers as to why this was happening. Where would this lead her to?" He swallowed. "What I am trying to say is, Natalie was a wonderful person, she wanted to become an epitome of role model. She showed that Adenview wasn't any other disaster city you see in the movies. She wanted to show that girls were truly capable of doing other things than makeup and nails."

Jack and Grace both were silent taking in these words from Damien, Grace didn't want to say anything. She never felt this way before. She never had the capability to feel emotions before. She was always straight to the point or calm, today, at this very moment she was quiet. She had no words to say. She had only listened to Damien's words carefully and the sound of the wind blowing in the direction.

"Wh-why did you tell us this?" Grace stuttered as she was surprised herself.

"Because Grace, Natalie found answers because she tried. I'm sure you'll do the exact thing even if it means being the old self of you."

"Natalie and you are so similar in characteristics, you both are deserving, caring and hard-working. When I said, she would go back to her old ways, I meant that she slowly became the generous person everyone saw, sometimes even using the ways she didn't want too."

"What do you mean?" Jack asked.

"Let's say, how Grace is right now." Damien correctly stated.

"What, that she's dangerous? Calm? Sweet?" The last one shocked Grace.

Did Jack call her sweet?

"Dangerous, calm, confident and even sweet." Damien nodded his head.

"I don't know why you're being nice."

"I'm not being nice, Grace. I'm being the person I should've been before." Damien spoke as he looked at the two teenagers.

"I'm not understanding." Jack looked lost.

"I'm her grandfather."
