A/N: It's Christmas Eve guys! Aren't you guys just excited for Christmas?? :3 I know I am XD and well, as I promised, I'm going to do a special Imagine!  ENJOY!!

XVIII: Stay With Me (Part 1)

( Shawn's P.O.V. )

I wake to the sun shining through the curtains, giving brightness to the bedroom. I groan as I turn to face the other side of the bed.

I sigh when I realize that it was empty. I miss her so much. I miss having to wake up to her sleeping, peaceful face every morning.

But thank goodness, ( Y/N ) is coming back today from France! She got a scholarship to study there for 2 years, and it feels like she's been gone forever.

Luckily, she should arrive early this afternoon, ad I'm going to pick her up from the airport of course.

Then my phone starting ringing. I look at the caller ID and right away sit up straight when it was ( Y/N ) calling me.

' Hello? ' I said after answering the phone. My face lit up as soon as I hear her sweet voice.

' Good morning Shawn. ' I smile.

' Hi baby girl. ' I said still feeling a little sleepy.

' I presume you just woke up. ' she giggles at the other end of the line.

' You know me so well. ' I chuckle.

' I, uh, have something to tell you. ' my face falls as soon as I heard her sad voice.

' What's wrong? Are you hurt? Are you coming down with a fever? ' I ask worriedly.

' I'm fine. ' she manages to giggle. ' It's just, uh, I don't think I can make it today. '

' What? Why? '

' I still have a few things to take care of here. But don't worry, I should be there tomorrow. ' she says trying to reassure me.

' That means you'll miss Christmas Eve. ' I frown.

' I now, I'm sorry. And I'll be there tomorrow night. '

' Tomorrow night?! That's even worse, you'll miss most of Christmas! '

' Shawn- '

' I haven't seen you for 2 years ( Y/N ). You know how much I was looking forward to today. ' I sigh.

' I know Shawn, I'm sorry. It's just that I have some things to take care of at the University  first. '

' Oh so, is the University more important than me now? '

' You know it's not like that Shawn. '

I sigh once more. ' Can't you at least try to come today? I, I really miss you. ' that's when my voice slightly cracked.

She sighs. ' Fine, I'll try. You're such a crybaby. ' If I'm right, she should be rolling her eyes right now.

' Thanks ( Y/N ). '

' I should be there around 5. I'm going to take the later flight. Still have some things to do here. '

' Okay, see you soon baby girl. ' I smile.

' See you soon. ' Then she hangs up.

I get up and head to the bathroom. I was thinking of cleaning the house and maybe cook something for ( Y/N ) before she arrives tonight.

After getting ready, I go out to the grocery to buy the ingredients I needed. I decided to bake a ' Welcome Home ' cake for ( Y/N ).

After a couple of hours, I headed back home and went straight to the kitchen. I take my phone and learn all the steps I need to do to bake the perfect cake.

Few hours later, I finished baking the cake and decorating it. The cake was not perfect, but I was satisfied with it.

Then, I put the cake in the refrigerator. After that I started cleaning the kitchen, and the living room.

After cleaning, I go up to the bedroom to get ( Y/N )'s Christmas present. I open the bed side drawer and take out a heart shaped ring box.

Today is the day, I'm going to propose to her. The thought caused me to smile. I glance at the clock and it read 5.30. Dang, I'm late!

I quickly grab my coat and my scarf, then I put the ring box in my pocket and head downstairs. As I pass the living room, I hear the tv playing. I forgot to turn it off.

I go to the tv and grab the remote control that was on the coffee table. Just as I was about to turn it off, the news started to play.

' We interrupt this programmer with breaking news. ' the reporter said. ' Apparently a plane crashed when landing at the Los Angeles International Airport. '

My heart stopped for a second, praying that it wasn't ( Y/N )'s plane.

' The plane crash happened around 5 in the evening. It was reported that several people are injured and a few died. '

5 in the evening. It felt like the time stopped, I couldn't move for a few seconds. Snapping out of my trance, I dash out of the house and get in the car.

I drove to the airport as fast as possible. When I got near the airport, I saw a big smoke from behind the airport.

After parking the car, I run in the airport. I started searching for her, breathing heavily. As I searched and searched, I saw the plane outside, there was fire from the crash.

I saw paramedics in the airport, along with injured people from the crash. I looked as hard as I could. Then, I just gave up.

My knees o weak as tears roll down my face.

" I shouldn't have asked her to come today. " the tears won't stop. " I should have just let her stay at the University until tomorrow. " more tears came rolling down.

I'm so sorry ( Y/N )! I failed to protect you! I take out the ring box from my pocket and glance at it before gripping the box tightly in my hand.

I don't care how I looked right now, ugly or not, I lost the love of my life. I can't believe this is really happening.

" She can't be gone. She just can't. "

" Shawn? "
