Chapter 9: Shifting

I woke up with a screaming pain in my right arm. I screamed and took me to the arm. It felt like every bone in my body broke a million times only there. I looked beside me and saw no wolf, but instead I saw was Cole, with only his boxer. I screamed again and he shot up. He saw me and hugged me close to him. I cried and more bones were breaking. I was lost; I didn't know what was happening to me.

"What's ... happening?" I stuttered through the pain. Another wave of pain flowed through my body, I screamed and Cole let go of me.

"You're shifting," he muttered, more to himself than me. My eyes widened. I'm shifting? I looked at Cole for help and he looked pained he too. I let the tears flow down my face. Cole looked like he wanted to help, but maybe it's something I need to go through alone?

Whatever the reason is, I'm sure it's a good one. Another wave hit and I felt my ribs breaking apart from each other. I screamed again and put my hands on the chest. I cried and cried and cried. The tears ran down my cheeks and hit the ground.

I couldn't do anything, but to cooperate with the pain in my body. After three hours, the bones in my legs began breaking. I laid on the ground, used to the pain, but still let out small scream and sobs. Cole looked so torn, that his world was crushing because I was in pain. I locked eyes with him and he tried to smile, but it didn't reach his beautiful green eyes. His eyes had water in them, so I have an idea that he cried a little. I tried smiling back, but it ended up in a grimace.

My body was trembling and it was cold. The only thing that was closest to heat was Cole. I could feel heat radiating from his body. My vision became blurry, and I saw myself kissing Cole in the woods and then our marriage.

I gasped and tears began flowing again. I saw myself in a beautiful white wedding dress and a man standing beside. I could't see him clearly, but it wasn't  Cole. This stranger had blonde hair and the only thing I could see was his eyes which was clear blue. This confused me, but this man made me smile and I was happy. Then it faded away.

Cole's P.O.V

I sat and looked at my little mate. I knew she was in pain, since she was shifting for the first time. It didn't make sense, usually wolves shift when they're fifteen. I looked back at her, her brown eyes glossy.

I couldn't do anything to help my girl. I sat there helplessly. Then her body went still, it looked like she was seeing something. Melody was crying again, but not in physical pain. Fur was starting popping out on her body, and her face changed. I would do anything just so she could not feel pain.

Soon Melody wasn't lying there, but a very big wolf. She was bigger than a normal female wolf, but I was still bigger than her. Her fur was silver white with a half-moon in black on her shoulder blade to her left. She looked peace full where she laid.

I smiled at her, and shifted into my black wolf, I had somewhat the same mark, but it was white and it was on the right shoulder blade. I lay down next to her and she curled up into me. I'm lucky to have this girl, but one thing that confused me; why is she a wolf?

I didn't smell it on her the day I met her. I couldn't come up with something. I decided to ask the alpha when we come back. I was sure my clothes were near the three before I went to sleep.

I woke up by someone poking me. I opened my eyes and saw Melody was standing over me, in my t-shirt. When a wolf shift their clothes rips, therefore Melody was half-naked in front of me now. I looked and saw I was still in my wolf form. I got up and shifted. Melody's eyes widened and traveled up and down my body. I smirked.

"See something you like?" I smirked and mentioned to my body. She blushed and shook her head. "No," she said, but her face and eyes told me different. I took on me my boxer and jeans, and since Melody had my t-shirt I must go shirtless. I walked to her and wrapped my arms around her. She wrapped her around my torso as well.

She leaned her head on my chest and I could hear her sniffing. I chuckled and put my chin on the top of her head. We stood like this for a while.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. She nodded and hugged me harder. I leaned back; she looked at me with confusion. I cupped her chin with my hand and brought my lips on hers. I felt the sparks, that's girly I know, but it's the truth.

I moved my lips with hers and she responded eagerly. She moved her arms and wrapped them around my neck. I had my hands on her waist and I pulled her closer to me. She smiled into the kiss. I licked her bottom lip, asking for entrance. She opened up and our tongues collided and I explored her mouth.

She tasted of mint and strawberry, a cute taste. We broke back and breathed heavily. She leaned her forehead on mine. I smiled at her and she smiled back at me. "We need to talk to the alpha," I said and took a hold of her hand.

"My father?" she asked me. Wait! Her father is the alpha? "Yes," I answered. I scooted her up so I was carrying her in bride style. She pouted, and that was an extremely turn on. "I can walk myself," she said crossing her arms over her chest.

"I like you in my arms." I winked at her and she blushed. We walked through the wood with Melody in my arms; slowly falling asleep.

After she fell asleep a smirk rose to my face. She was to naive for her own good.
