Chapter 8: My mate

After the name was out of my mouth, dad's eyes widened. And he grinned like a maniac. That was creepy. "That's fantastic!" he said. I was confused. Did dad know who Cole was? Than did Cole know he was my father. And he was in my class when I shouted at my mom. Fuck. "Um, it is?" I asked, still not sure how to take this. It's still new to me. So I sat there more confused. "Yes of course it is, sweetie!" Dad said and grinned at me.

I was so overwhelmed I could only get a sly smile through my lips. "Wait!" I said and dad looked at me confused. "Do you know him?" He began laughing; I really didn't know what was going on. "Of course, since I don't have any sons, and you didn't know about werewolves, Cole is soon to be Alpha."

I chocked. Cole was going to be Alpha? Oh my God, that means... I don't know what that means. I didn't care. I thanked my dad for telling me this, and not my bitch of a mother. I walked out and down the stairs. I came down and some pair of eyes looked closely at me. I felt self-conscious; I looked at the ground and walked past them.

I opened the door and was about to step out when a voice called my name. I looked back and saw Kathryn running towards me, was she a werewolf too? "Hey, what is it?" I asked when she was near me. She looked me up and down.

"What are you doing here?" she asked; a little bitchy may I say. I rolled my eyes, but then I remember. She wasn't in the class where I shouted at my mother and met my dad I thought was dead. "Well, I had a talk with my dad," I answered, but she didn't look like she believed me. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Does the alpha know a human are here?" she asked. I thought she might want to get rid of me. "Oh honey," I said, chuckling. "The alpha is my father, and I'm no human." With that I walked away from a gaping Kathryn. I opened the door and bumped right into a chest.

Tingles shot up my body, but I didn't care. I looked up and my eyes widened when I saw who it was. I was too shocked, and after what I heard today I couldn't even move. He looked shocked as well, since I'm pretty sure he didn't intend to see me now or here.

"Uh, I will just go," I said and got up from my sitting position. I began walking away, but someone yanked me back and I collided with a hard chest. "I saw your little outburst today," he whispered huskily in my ear. I shivered and a blush crept onto my face.

"Yeah, my mother deserved it," I said it a little harsh, but it was aimed towards my mother. I felt his hand around me tighten. "Um, what are you doing?" I asked him. He chuckled and another spark shot up my body. God, this mate bond was strong.

"I'm not letting you go," he mumbled into my hair. I was confused. He was not letting me go? What if I need to pee or something? "What if I need to shower or pee?" I asked, trying to get out of his grip on me. He loosened his grip and turned me around to face him. He smiled at me and shook his head.

I crossed my arms over my chest and waited for an answer. The door opened and out stepped the last person I wanted to see; mom. I groaned, actually load. Cole saw/heard it and cracked a smile.

"What are you doing here?" I asked and glared at my mother. She looked shocked at my harshness, maybe because I never stood up for myself when we were home. Her eyes flicked to Cole and she flashed him a flirty smile

. "Oh my God, that's discussing Selena," I said, discus rolled of my tongue. I didn't want to call her mom. She didn't deserve it after what she did to me. She looked straight at me. "What did you call me?" she asked in a strict voice. I laughed at her. Cole looked very confused, and he kept looking between me and Selena.

"Well, after what you have done," I started. "I can't call a bitch my mother." Cole gasped and a relation clicked in his mind. Selena looked like she was about to explode. I laughed at her and I seriously couldn't stop. I fell to the ground and laughed. My stomach hurt so much! "Did you...did you really think I would call you anything else?" I laughed.

Cole began smiling at me and I laughed harder. He helped me up and hugged me close since I still laughed so hard and he needed to hold me up, or I would fall down again. My mother looked suspicious at us and I stopped laughing, but couldn't hide my smile.

"It's something between you two," she stated and I looked up at Cole who smirked. I shook my head, but he didn't see it. "Of course it is," Cole said. I wanted to melt into his arms and stay there forever. My mother looked shocked.

"Melody? Even after what happened with you and Daniel?" My face paled and my body froze. How dare she mention Daniel! Tears began to form in my eyes, but I didn't want them to fall. I've already cried enough about him. Mother saw my reaction and smiled an evil smile.

"Why?" My voice cracked. "Speak a little clearer, darling," she said, smirking. I glared at her. "Why did you mention him? You know what he did to me!" I screamed at her before I walked away, or would I say ran away. I heard footsteps behind me, but didn't care who it was.

I ran towards the woods and didn't stop before I was well hid between the trees. I sank together on the ground. I couldn't believe she brought my relationship with aniel up. She knew I got teary. I heard footsteps coming closer to me, and more than one.

I looked up and saw a big black wolf with dazzling blue eyes. In a way I knew it was Cole. He looked hurt. I moved closer to him, he bowed his head and I stroked the fur and down the neck. He looked back up and our eyes met. I was so caught up in his eyes, so a bomb could have exploded beside me, and I still wouldn't have noticed

. He moved closer and laid himself down on the ground. I laid myself beside him and snuggled closer to him, he took his tail around me. I felt safe. I smiled. I fell asleep just seconds later, still with a little smile on my face.
