Chapter 26: Birth and war plans

Kyle was in his office, trying to figure out what to do with Cole, my father and Daniel. Ever since he found out Daniel was a vampire, he had searched for more than him. Like a clan or something. I tried to help sometime, but I got kicked right out at once I stepped into the room, by Kyle. Sometimes I think he's to overprotective for his own good.

"I need food," I said to myself as I walked out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen. Over the past month Kyle explained why my father and Cole thought I was The Moon Luna. It was because of his pack legends, but really I was just a late shifter. When I saw my life pass under my shift; it was just normal to see it for Alpha mates, but they took it as a sign to me being their precious fighter.

When I opened up the fridge I didn't see any food. Everyone had eaten up the food we had and no one bothered going grocery shopping. Guess it was up to me.

'Going grocery shopping, I'll not be long.'

I sent through our mate bond. It came quite in handy sometimes when I was too lazy to get my ass out of the bed or couch. My laziness was much before, but now that I'm pregnant it's even more.

'Okay, be careful kitten.'

I shook my head at the nickname he have me when he first found me in the woods.

I got into the car and drove into town. After fifteen minutes I stood looking at the milk in the store. I picked it and put it into my basket. I walked to where they keep the cheese and butter when I felt something wet down bellow before a wave of pain shoot through my body.

"Somebody help!" I cried out in pain and two persons, a girl at maybe nineteen and a boy a little older than the girl, helped me up before calling 911. I knew I was soon giving birth, but all I could think of was Kyle. The way he smiled when he saw me and the laugh when I said something funny. My Kyle. I needed him right now.

Another wave of pain shoot through my body and I screamed in pain.

'KYLE!'

I couldn't say anything else, but I didn't need to because I had the feeling he knew exactly what was happening. The ambulance was now at the store and people helped me into the car. A nurse was back with me and said I needed to calm down and breath before they drove off.

"Please breath, miss," the employee said and made me breath harder before pushing with almost every muscle in my body. I got this stick kind of thing to have in my mouth so I could bite in it. I bit it in half when I started pushing to get my baby out.

The door opened and a worried Kyle was standing in the doorway looking down at my shaking body. The doctor got mad at Kyle for interrupting something very important.

"That's my child being born and you shouldn't speak like that to your Alpha, doctor," Kyle's eyes were black and not the ice blue eyes I was used to. The doctor nodded in fright and moved out of the way of Kyle.

Kyle walked to my side and sat down before taking my hand on his. Another wave came and I pressed hard while trying to hold back a scream. That didn't end well, I screamed. My breathing was again uneven.

"Mel, please calm down and breath," Kyle said and brushed my hair away from my sweaty fore head. The only thing I could was to nod as an answer.

I had both of my babies in my arms and I smiled down at the sleeping faces. I could see Kyle's happiness when I had twins; one boy and one girl. The girl came out first, but Kyle didn't care though. He was overwhelming with happiness.

Flashback

I pressed harder and heard small cries. I opened up my tired eyes and saw the little baby girl being tucked into a pink blanket. She smiled and my heart melted. The doctor didn't want to give me my baby and I didn't understand before I got another set of pain waves through me. That was when I realized I was actually having twins. After two hours I could hear another baby's cries and saw that a boy was tucked into a blue blanket. This time the doctor didn't refuse me to hold my children.

When they both opened their eyes I looked at the most unique eyes I could have ever seen. Both of them had different eye colors on each of their eyes. On my girl's left eye the color was ice blue like Kyle, but the eye color on he right was a forest green. I knew that color, it was from Kyle's mother. My boy's eyes were the same expect the opposite side of my girl.

Kyle looked down at us and smiled when he saw the babies eye colors. On the top of their little heads some light hair could be seen.

Flashback over

"When can we go home Kyle?" I asked and looked up at him.

"Tomorrow," he answered before kissing my head and walking to the doctor. I was too tired to listen and fell asleep.

"Mom! We're home!" Kyle called as we walked through the door. I had my little baby girl in my arms. She had woken up when we drove home, so I had to take her. Kyle had my baby boy, but he was asleep.

Karen, Kyle's mother, came down the stairs and her whole face lit up when she saw what I we had on our arms.

She ran and hugged the both of us, but were careful with our children.

"Look at those little cuties!" Karen gushed and I wanted to laugh at her when she made a goofy grimace at my girl. She laughed and Karen grinned.

"What's their names?" She asked and I looked at Kyle. He nodded. I had already picked out two names and said them to Kyle. He had agreed with my choice.

"Lotus and Luke," I said smiling down at Lotus. Her green and blue eyes shone when I said her name.

Karen grinned again and went to talk to her husband. Kyle and I walked up to the room we had set up for our baby, but since we had only one bed I had to borrow the one Kyle had when he was a baby. First had he protested, but I came up with a reason and we got it into the room. We put the kids down and walked out before shutting their door.

"Melody, I need to talk to you in my office," Kyle said seriously and I knew it was about my father, Cole and Daniel. I nodded and followed after him.

The office had a sign that said 'Alpha' at the door. We walked in and Kyle sat behind the desk and me at the chair in front.

"They have declared war," Kyle said and I gasped.

"What?" I whispered.

"I got it right after you left for grocery shopping and I can't deny it," he said, but he did sound a little sad, maybe because he thought I didn't want my own father to be hurt. But he left me with the wicked witch of the west all these years. I'm not even sure of she had taken good care of Thea.

I nodded.

"The fight will be in a week," he said sadly. I smiled resuringly, before I heard Luke cry. I excused myself before walking to check on my crying children.

I only hoped Kyle would survive the fight.
