Chapter Two

I woke up to my annoying alarm clock blaring in my ear. I slammed my hand against the snooze button. Wait, how did I get in my room? I don't remember coming up here. Oh well. I got out of my, my warm feet making contact with the cold floor; sending chills throughout my entire body.

I sighed and walked over to my closet and picked out an outfit. I decided not to look like a slob today, considering I would already be sent glares and whispers. I dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans, a dark dark grey t-shirt, a knitted cardigan, and a pair of tan booties.

I walked out and threw my previous outfit on my bed. I walked to my bathroom and did my usual routine. Brushed my teeth and straightened my brown hair. I don't really wear make-up and when I do, it is mainly for special occasions or if I feel like taking the time to do it.

I grabbed my phone and black backpack before heading downstairs where my brother was stuffing his face with Cheerios. I waved and walked into the kitchen. Mom was making a cup of coffee and I gave her a light one arm hug.

"Mama, you think you can give me a ride?" I ask, reaching around her to grab an apple. She looks to me, takes a sip of her coffee, and nods.

"Of course honey. Why don't you go get in the car and I will be there in a second," she said and walked off to her room. More than likely to go get dressed. I did as told and walked out to her black Volvo xc60. I got in the passengers seat and sank back.

I got out my phone and decided to go on Instagram. That was probably the worst idea ever because I had a load of hate comments on my recent post. It was all from people at my high school, talking about how much of a traitor I am and how I ruined Alex.

I ruined Alex? He ruined me! He was the one who broke our relationship and no one will believe be because everyone melts at Alex's words. Even I did at one point. Maybe somebody will see through his act and believe me, but until then, I have no one on my side.

My mom soon came out and got in the drivers seat, starting the car and heading towards my high school. Once she pulled into the parking spot, I got out and instantly got stares from everyone. Oh how I hated attention. I looked down at my feet and walked inside, heading for my old blue locker.

Once I reached it, not making contact with anyone's eyes, I started loading my backpack with my books. I would get around without someone actually speaking to me (hopefully), but I wouldn't get around without glares and whispers.

I slammed my locker shut and started towards my English class. Once I reached it, Mr. Mendez was setting up for his lecture, so I snuck past and hurried to the far back corner. I sat down and placed my backpack on my chair, getting out my textbook. When Mr.Mendez looked up, he caught my eye.

"Oh, Miss Anders. Why weren't you here yesterday?" he asked, folding his hands together. I looked around not making eye contact with him.

"I-I uhm, had personal issues," I said. That isn't a complete lie, but it isn't the whole truth either. He nodded, knowing not to ask anymore questions. Thank God!

Once the bell rang, students started flooding in and started taking their seats. Nobody sat next to me which is both a good and a bad thing. I really didn't want anyone to sit next to me, but that also meant that no one wanted to because of the lies Alex filled their head with. Mr. Mendez started his lecture and I took notes.

Not too long after starting class, a student came in who I didn't recognize. He was very good looking with deep brown eyes and brown hair that defined his beautiful face. He was thin but built, not too much though. He was wearing a black shirt that showed off his muscles, a pair of khaki joggers, and black Jordan's.
