  Asher Above

I walked into my bedroom and threw my backpack in the corner of my room. I groaned and fell onto my bed.

I can't believe Alex did that. I can't believe Asher did that, yet again I don't know Asher. I take that back, I can believe Alex did that.

I grabbed my diary and my pencil, writing down my feelings.

                                                                               ***

   Dear Nobody,

Today was a very stressful day. With everyone staring at me to Alex and the new mysterious boy, Asher, getting into a fight.

How do I cope with this? Well, I don't exactly know yet. Yet! I will figure that out, even if that means tracking Asher down.

   Sincerely,

   -Elle

                                                                                           ***

I placed my book down and I heard a throat being cleared. My eyebrows pulled together and I looked around. Suddenly my eyes laid upon him. The Mystery boy. Asher.

"What the heck are you do-" I said, stopping mid-sentence when I realized what he said earlier in class. HE LIVES THERE. "oohh."

"Yeahhhh," he said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and walked over to my window, coming face to face with him. "So."

"So. What happened after that fight with Alex?" I asked, laying my chin on my palm. He raised his eyebrows.

"Would you like to explain why I had to get into that fight with Alex," he said, Alex's name rolling bitterly off his tongue.

"No. Not yet anyways. Or not ever. What happened?" I asked, a smirk playing on my lips.

"Well, I told them that he threw the first punch and that he was hurting you. I hit him in self-defense. They gave him a suspension and me two weeks after school detention," he explained. I sighed.

"You shouldn't have done that." He rolled his eyes.

"So what was I supposed to do? Just leave him there to hurt you. Who knows what he would've done if I didn't step in."

"Yeah, you're right. But I can handle myself, I am a big girl," I said, pouting out my bottom lip. He rolled his eyes and traced over my body.

"Yeah, your 5'4 self could handle his 6'4 self."

"Blah, blah, blah," I said, moving my hand in a talking motion.

"You owe me. I will keep that in mind," he replied.

"No. I am not owing you anything, that was totally your choice," I replied, pointing to him. He rolled his eyes.

   "I saved your life."

"Pa-lease. Yeah I appreciate it, but it's not like I asked you to fight him for me," I replied.

"I didn't have to do it princess, and I shouldn't have. It was a choice."

"What did you call me?" I asked, ignoring everything else he had just said.

"Princess. Why, do you not like being called that?" He pouted.

"Well, it isn't the best nickname in the book. Especially since you aren't my prince charming."

"Ouch," he said, placing a hand on his heart. I rolled my eyes at his lame attempt to be hurt. I may be acting like a complete jerk right now, but I promised myself the day that everything happened with Alex that I wouldn't let another guy like him in.

A guy that looked bad, that looked like a player. Sadly, Asher reminded me of Alex when we first had met. "That hurt, hmm. I never really got your name and I just saved your life."

I rolled my eyes. "Elle. My name is Elle." He nodded, a genuine smile on his face. A smile that I didn't recognize from Alex. That Is something Alex didn't do much was genuinely smile. I guess he wasn't pleased with me.

"That's cool. You have the name of a princess," He replied.

"I am going to say that nickname is sticking around?" I asked. He turned on his heels and headed for the door.

"You got that right, Princess," he said over his shoulder, his voice echoed.  I chuckled and shut my window.

How am I going to handle him as my neighbor? Only God knows.
