I got a haircut!!! I look so old now tho lol

It had been three weeks since Mac and Beth had ran from the police. Mac hadn't mentioned anything from the night he confessed, and Beth was always busy preparing meals on a tiny stove or cleaning up and hadn't said anything either. They also hadn't had sex since that night, which left Beth craving him again. She'd entice him, but it proved to be useless. They went back to their new day-to-day lives, which hadn't changed much for Beth.

One day, while Mac was out dealing again, Beth was wiping down the lab. Mac had told her to keep the glasses and other vials cleaned so he could make the next batch. Beth hated touching the meth-covered glass, but if she wanted to stay sane, then she'd have to.

As she was polishing a thin vial, she heard footsteps coming down the main cave.

"Hey babe, I'm almost done. When I'm done, wanna fuck?" She asked, hoping that for once he'd say yes. She needed him so badly.

"Well, as tempting as that offer is, I must decline." That wasn't Mac.

Beth whipped around and held the vial at ready, knowing very well that it was a poor weapon. She came face to face with an old Mexican man with greyed hair and mustache and a white beard.

"Who're you and how did you find this place?" She demanded, her eyes never leaving his.

"I was just about to ask you the same thing." The man stated. "I'm Walter. I'm looking for my idiot son so I can get my latest batch."

Beth hesitated before lowering her weapon slightly. "I'm Beth. I think I'm your idiot son's girlfriend."

"Mac has a girlfriend? Well that's a first," Walter chuckled, extending his right hand to her. She hesitantly shook it, her eyes never leaving him.

Then Walter glanced around. "Where is he?" He asked.

"Out. He'll be home soon." She mumbled.

"Oh. Well I can't exactly leave yet. Mind if I stick around?" He asked. Beth narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously, still gripping the vial. She didn't trust him in the slightest. But she couldn't exactly shoo him out of there either.

"Only if you stay over there." She muttered, pointing to a metal chair that sat at the far end of the cave.

"Fair enough." Walter said, going over to the chair and sitting down. Beth nodded before grabbing the rag and resuming cleaning, still facing Walter. "So you're name is Beth? That's a nice name."

"Yeah," she mumbled, glancing up at him.

"Where are you from? I noticed that you have a little bit of an accent."

"Georgia."

"Really? That's pretty far. I heard it's a beautiful place. My ex-wife lives there with her new husband and their son." Walter stated. "Her name was Vicki. I have no idea what her last name was."

"Mhm," Beth put the vial down and grabbed another jar.

"What's your last name?"

"Greene." She whispered, her voice faltering a little. She missed her parents dearly. Were they even sleeping? Was her father drinking again? He did that under dress sometimes.

"That's a nice name. Is it going to change to Rodriguez soon?" Walter joked, chucking a little.

Beth shrugged, doubting it very much. Mac would never marry her. He didn't seem like the type to do that.

"So how'd you end up here, Beth?" Walter asked, glancing around the meth lab.

Beth shrugged again. She didn't know if Walter was familiar with his son's kidnapping. And the last thing she wanted was for Mac to be hauled off to jail because of his father.
