Mac and Beth arrived at the meth lab after a while. Mac parked his truck where it was out of sight of the main cave, then he helped Beth carry the bags in. Since Beth had only been in the cave once and she wasn't familiar with the winding path that led to the main cave, Mac had to guide her. He placed his hand on the small of her back and gently guided her over the rocks, warning her of unexpected rocks. With minimal scrapes, Beth managed to get into the main cave. It was empty, though had the permanent stench of drugs. Beth couldn't help but wrinkle her nose a little.

"It's fine. It ain't gonna kill ya." Mac muttered, heading down one corridor. Beth followed, covering her nose with the flannel she was wearing. They had to walk for a little bit, but eventually they made it to a smaller cave. This one had a cot up against a wall, and at the very top of the cave there was a hole that allowed sunlight to shine down onto the cot. It didn't look very comfortable, but it was better than nothing. Mac tossed the bag onto the cot and sat down, letting out a groan as he relaxed. Beth sat down next to him and rested her head against his shoulder, closing her eyes. They were safe. For now.

Mac pulled out his phone and started to text someone. Out of curiosity, Beth looked down at the phone. "Who ya texting?" She asked.

"Luke." He grunted. Beth wrapped her arms around his waist as he texted.

Mac: Wanna party at the cave?

Luke: sure

Mac: Bring pizza and booze. But don't invite Andrea.

Luke: aw come on man shes my fave

Mac: I didn't ask if she was your favorite. Invite trish if ya want.

Luke: whatever

Mac: See ya.

Mac put his phone away and laid down, pulling Beth down with him. She laid on top of his chest for a while, listening to his heartbeat. It was so steady and strong, like him. She could feel her own heart pounding away in her ribcage, and wondered briefly if Mac could feel it. Did he cherish the sound of her heartbeat like she cherished his? She closed her eyes and sighed, nuzzling her face into his chest.

"There's gonna be a party later. I don't want ya fuckin' anyone tonight, got it?" Mac muttered, brushing her hair back.

"Not even you?" She asked innocently, looking up at him and trying her best to hide the smirk.

Mac glared at her, which made her laugh. He let a small smile crack before shaking his head. "Smart ass." He muttered. Then he leaned up and captured her lips in his, allowing his eyes to shut. Beth's eyes fluttered shut as well, enjoying the feeling of his lips. She enjoyed a lot of things about him, come to think of it. She still couldn't believe that she loved this man. His greasy, meth-cooking man. Yet at the same time, she couldn't really imagine life without him.

Later that night, people started showing up to the cave. Luke and Mike came first, and with Mac and Beth's help, they managed to hide all of the gear and drugs, keeping a few packs for the fun. Beth knew at once that she didn't want any, and that she wouldn't let anyone get her a drink. Not even Mac. Luckily she had a few unopened soda cans in their room. After a little while, the sluts came in. Beth didn't like them one bit, especially a brunette one who kept eyeing Mac. He was hers, and she'd be damned if she let another woman touch her man.

At around nine that night, the party had officially started. Music was blaring and the meth was being passed around. Almost everyone, including Mac, was fucked up on drugs and alcohol. Beth stuck around staying sober, keeping an eye on Mac to make sure he didn't fuck up. He was chatting with his friends with Beth at his side. She had no idea what he was talking about, but she really didn't want to know either. About a quarter after nine, Beth got thirsty.
