Chapter 3: Alright!

Chapter 3

Katniss P.O.V.

I walk to the middle school to pick up Prim.

But when I get there someone else are there as well.

Gale and his ... Girlfriend? Johanna Mason. But... Are they together? I didn't know that. They are holding hands, so I guess they are.

"Katniss hey", Gale says.

"Hi", I say short.

"You here to pick someone up?" Johanna asks.

"My sister Prim", I say short again.

"Oh Rory talks about her all the time", Gale says.

Yeah I've heard the name Rory, but I'm not gonna tell Gale that.

"Was there something you wanted?" I ask.

"I think you know what, brainless", Johanna says.

Wow, rude much? Same old Johanna.

"Well you're wasting your time, like I said, I'm not interested", I say and walk over to Prim when I see her come out of the school building.

They gotta stop nagging on me. I don't want to be a part of that group and that's final.

When we come home I rush directly up to my room.

I dump my bag on the floor and face lands with my face in my pillow when I throw myself onto the bed.

I scream out in frustration into the pillow.

What am I going to do? Clove won't let me decide this on my own, she will hunt me down until I agree on joining the group.

But I really don't want to breath the same air as the asshole Peeta Mellark.

I don't even know what I did to make him hate me.

It's true what Clove said earlier. We were friends. Best friends even. We liked each other's presents. But suddenly when we were like ten he just started to shut me out and he started to behave rudely towards me and we slowly started to hate each other. I barley even remember the time I smiled at him, or that he looked at me with those blue eyes without hatred.

Oh why did my life get so messed up? What did I do? Did I do something to deserve this kind of life? The only good thing with my life is Prim. My only joy in life.

My phone rings and I groan as I take it up.

Clove.

"Clove, enough already I told I don't want to!" I shout in the phone.

"Well it's not Clove so stop shouting Everdeen", I hear Mellarks voice say.

"What the hell Mellark?!" I shout.

"Tell her!" I hear Clove whisper.

"Ouch Alright! Stop pinching me Clove!" Mellark says irritated. "Join our group, bye!" And he hangs up.

What the actual hell just happened?Clove is behind all of this, but still! Oh what is happening? What did just happen?

Did Mellark just ask me to join the group?

I guess he did. But should I? It wouldn't be easy. How am I suppose to join the group and still ignore Mellark?

Well everyone needs a challenge right? But is this the right one?

Oh crap!

I know that Clove won't let me say no again, so I'm pretty much stuck now anyways, but I don't want to.

I call Clove.

"Katniss?"

"Madonna", I say sarcastically.

"Very funny", Clove says.

"Yeah and so was my last call", I say irritated. "Look you can stop nagging, I can join but I'm not talking to Mellark!"

"She's joining!" Clove shouts and I can hear some cheer. "But she's still not going to talk to you Peeta".

"Bummer", I hear Peeta say sarcastically in the background. "Should that make me sad?"

I roll my eyes.

"And Kit, come over now", she says.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes now move your ass over to mine and the girls place, and take some stuff with you because you're moving in!" Then she hangs up the phone.

Oh god, what did I get myself into?
