I looked at my hands in disgust. I could still feel my own blood trickling down them. If only Elise hadn't been there, I would've been able to part from this world without regrets, but she healed me, and here I am. The king of Hoshido that tried to kill himself, and was saved by a traitor of Nohr. Neither of those things were taken lightly by their respective kingdoms.
From what I've heard, almost as soon as Corrin and her Nohrian siblings returned to Nohr, Xander took it upon himself to discipline Elise.
As for me, I was just looked down on. It was despicable that I had tried to kill myself for the greater good but failed in doing so. It would've been worse if Nohr had won without King Garon dead.
But I had to push that all aside. Today was supposed to be a joyous occasion. I was being officially crowned to the throne. And Takumi, or what was left of him, we was going to be properly put to rest.

I was snapped out of my trance when I heard someone knock on my door. "Yes?" I said without even looking up.
"Ryoma, it's me," I heard Hinoka say in a somewhat urgent tone.
I sighed. "...come on in."
She quickly made me look her in the eyes. "Ryoma. You need to get downstairs."
I groaned. "Why...?"
She shook her head. "It's getting late, and Corrin and the rest of the Nohrian royal family will be here soon!"
"Alright...I'll be down soon," I mumbled under my breath.

Not too long after I had made it downstairs, Corrin arrived with her Nohrian siblings.
"Ryoma!" she said with a smile as she ran over and hugged me.
She might've sided with Nohr, but she was still close with us in Hoshido...especially me. "Corrin, it's so nice to see you again," I said with a smile.
Xander sighed. "It's amazing how well she gets along with you...even after clearly turning her back on you guys."
Hinoka nodded in agreement. "Yeah. But I don't question it. I mean, fate is a funny thing."

Well, it's now or never, I thought to myself.
I quickly spun to face Corrin, and fell to a knee.
She slightly gasped. "Ryoma! Do you need...help..."
She trailed off as she watched me put my hand into my pocket and pull out a box, and then she began to cry. "R-Ryoma..."
I smiled. "Corrin...to everyone else, you might be a traitor, never able to truly return to Hoshido. However, I think otherwise. During this last year, your visits to come and help, and just simple visits made me realize that I'm actually glad that Elise saved me that day. I realized that I had fallen for you. I'm not sure if you've caught on, but I've been dropping hints for so long that I love you. The dinners I'd set up, the flowers I gave you, and even the walks we went on...I was trying to tell you that I love you. That's why...Corrin...will you marry me?"
She glanced at Xander.
He nodded. "Go ahead, little princess. Prince Ryoma has told me about this. I won't stop you from following your heart."
She then turned her attention back to me, and before I could even react, she had tackled me to the ground with a hug. "Of course Ryoma! I love you so much! Of course I'll marry you!"
I slightly smirked. "Well, I'm glad you said yes."
"Why's that?" she asked.
"I already have the wedding planned into the ceremony. And you know how Oboro has been making occasional visits to take measurements?"
Corrin nodded. "...yes..."
I smiled. "She was getting your dress measurements."
She started to cry. "R-Ryoma...you didn't have to do this..."
I gently stroked her hair. "And why not? I love you so much, Corrin. I'll do anything to make you happy. Heck, Yukimura, who's conducting the ceremony, is even excited. There's nothing that you need to worry about!"
She sniffed a bit. "Y-yeah...I guess you're right..."
I then smiled as I pulled her in for a kiss.
With a slight moan, she kissed back.

I'm so glad that everything worked out. I can't imagine what my reaction would've been if Corrin had rejected me. I love her so much. Almost four years have passed since our wedding, and we have two healthy sons. Shiro, who's nearly three, and Kana, who's barely three months old. We couldn't be happier.
Of course, the Nohrian royal family often came to visit, and Leo now has a 2-year old son named Forrest. He seems to get along very well with Shiro.
Xander, however, has yet to take a maiden's hand in marriage. I'm quite surprised by this fact, given that he's the king of Nohr. But, as Hinoka says, fate is a funny thing.
