Chronic was pacing around Temporal Tower, worried. He checked his watch for what seemed to be the millionth time. 3:20. Sarah was supposed to arrive at Temporal Tower 20 minutes ago, and it wasn't like her to be late.
With a sigh, he sat on the edge of his bed, and started talking to himself. "I sure hope she's okay...she's never been late to anything as long as I've known her..."
Then as if on cue, a large crash could be heard, coming from the lower portion of the Tower.
Chronic quickly cursed under his breath. "Dammit...what in the name of Arceus was that..."
With a sigh, he got up off of his bed, and went to investigate what had made the crashing sound.

When he had gotten to the source of the sound, which was where Temporal Tower turned into Temporal Spire, he was quite surprised to see two females fighting over....him?
Yep. From the drift of their conversation, it sounded like the two females, who he knew to be sisters, Sarah and Lia, were fighting over him for some reason.
Sarah, who was currently a Lucario Pokehuman, fired an Aura Sphere at her older sister. "No! I definitely started with him first!"
Lia managed to easily dodge the attack, and readied an Air Slash. "Says you!" she yelled before firing the attack.
Sarah tried to block with a Bone Rush, but was hit, and slid backwards as a result.

Before the battle could escalate any further, Chronic quickly placed himself between the two females, slightly growling. "Hey! What in the name of Arceus are the two of you doing?!"
Sarah growled, her Bone Rush still in hand, at the ready. "Lia thinks it's okay for her to just randomly say, 'Hey! I love Chronic too, y'know!' I don't like it! At all!!"
Chronic then turned to Lia, as he was facing Sarah at the time. Lia. What's your side of the story?"
Lia sighed, and dispelled of the dual Shadow Claw she had at the ready. "It's true...I do have a crush on you..."
Chronic then turned away from the two females, and blushed. Arceus...how did this even happen... he thought to himself. I love Sarah, but I have a feeling that things aren't going to go so well if Lia doesn't get her way...
He was so deep in thought, he jumped when he felt someone place a hand on his shoulder. He then looked up, and saw Sarah. She sighed, and drew Chronic into a hug, and whispered into his ear, as Lia was watching from a bit of a distance, clearly jealous and mad. "Chronic...I know what Lia is saying is true, but don't listen to her...I love you much more than she ever can...don't you understand? Forget about Lia...all that matters is that we're together..."
With a sigh, Chronic hesitantly pushed Sarah away from him, and looked her in the eye. "Sarah, look. I know you want to be with me, and don't want Lia to interfere, but-"
Sarah then cut him off. "Chronic, look. I want us to be happy. Lia is just going to mess everything up! Why don't you understand?!" she said, obviously very mad at Chronic.

Chronic was a bit surprised, and pushed her away instinctively. "Sarah. Are you feeling okay?"
Sarah then crossed her arms, mad. "Fine? Does it look like I'm fine?"
Chronic sighed. "Sarah. You can tell me what's wrong. Talk to me."
Sarah then turned away from him, tears in her eyes. "Chronic...I...I thought I could trust you, but it turns out I was dead wrong."
Chronic, clearly concerned, walked over to her so he was facing her. "Sarah. What are you talking about? Of course you can trust me. You always have."
With a sniff, Sarah wiped a few of her tears away, and looked at Chronic. "I thought I could trust you with my love. But apparently I was wrong. I was talking about how I wanted to be with you forever, and not let my sister interfere, but there you were, wanting to give her a chance! We're through," she said before angrily storming out of Temporal Tower.

Chronic was at a loss for words. He had no idea how to handle this situation at all. He then silently walked over to Lia. "...you didn't anything to make her storm off that involved your Dark Aura, did you?"
She shook her head. "No...I swear up and down that I didn't do anything at all."
Although he did hesitate for a second, Chronic hugged Lia.
Lia was obviously surprised by Chronic's sudden movement, and almost immediately blushed. "Wh-what was that for..?"
Having just realized he surprised Lia, Chronic drew away from her, blushing a bit himself. "...I'm sorry...I...I'm going to go and find Sarah now."
Lia nodded. "Ok...can I actually come with you? She is my sister after all."
Chronic thought for a moment, and then nodded. "Yeah. I guess you can. I don't see why not."
Lia smiled. "Great."
Chronic then sighed. "Anyways, let's go."
Lia nodded, and the two of them headed out of Temporal Tower, looking for Sarah.

Running.
Sarah was running through the Hidden Land, wanting to get as far away from Chronic as she could. She then suddenly tripped and fell, and when she went to look to see what she tripped over, there wasn't a root or anything that could make her trip in sight.
Then, an all-too familiar chill went down her spine.
And that could mean only one thing: Darkrai had made her trip.
Before she even had the time to react, several shadowy tendrils wrapped around her, thoroughly restraining her, including a gag, as Darkrai rose from the shadows, grinning. "Well, well...what do we have here?"
Sarah started to fruitlessly struggle in her bonds. "Mmmmph!"
Darkrai chuckled and took her chin in his hand. "Don't even bother to try and call for help, Sarah. There is no way Chronic or Lia is going to find you. You may as well give up now."
At that point, Sarah started to whimper, truly starting to lose any hope she might've had.
Grinning, Darkrai picked her up, not noticing that two figures were watching him.
He was then about to teleport off to Dark Crater with Sarah, when he was hit head-on with a Focus Blast and Flash Cannon, causing him to drop Sarah, and for her shadowy bonds to disappear.

Chronic then ran over to Sarah, while Lia quickly fought off Darkrai.
He gently picked her up, seeing that she was currently in a fragile state, and swept some hair from her face. "...Sarah? Are you...are you okay?"
She weakly nodded. "Y-yeah...I think so..."
Chronic then sighed in relief. "That's good. Now why don't we get you back to Temporal Tower so you can get some rest?"
Although she barely had enough energy left, Sarah managed to nod in agreement before slipping into the realm of unconsciousness.
With a sigh, Chronic got up, still holding Sarah, and turned to Lia. "You ready to head back to Temporal Tower? Sarah's out cold."
Lia then walked over to Chronic and nodded. "Yeah. Let's head back," she said before surprising him with a kiss.
Chronic showed his surprise by blushing. "L-Lia...why did you..."
Lia slightly grinned. "Let's just keep this a secret. Kay?"
With a slight hesitation, Chronic nodded. "Alright. It's our little secret."
The two of them then headed back to Temporal Tower, so they could make sure Sarah was okay.

In the end, everything did turn out perfectly fine, but they did still occasionally fight over who did truly love Chronic.
