(A/N: So...this wasn't really requested by anyone. I just had so much free time on my hands today, that I wrote this. I hope you enjoy! Oh, also, feels alert. There are SO many feels.

And it isn't canon to anything at all.)

Doom sighed as she sat under her favorite tree at the Sootopolis City Gym. Sometimes she wondered why she still came here. Nico had been missing for several years now, and he was most likely dead by now. And it was her fault. It was Doom's fault they had gotten into a stupid argument over what to get Sarah for her birthday that year.
Sarah then came outside, and sat next to her. "Doom...I need you to talk to me. You've avoided talking about this for four years now. This silence...I can't help but think that I'm somehow responsible for this whole mess."
Doom sighed, obviously trying her best not to cry. "...I don't want to talk about this. Not now, not ever."
Sarah then placed a hand on Doom's shoulder, trying to comfort her. "Doom, I understand all of this is hard for you, but it's been four years. You need to let go. You need to accept the truth, no matter how hard it may be. Nico is gone. He isn't coming back." At this point, Sarah was finding it hard to keep herself from crying, but managed to do so.
Doom, however, was unable to contain herself, and started to cry. "I-I know that...it's just...h-he keeps dream visiting me...s-saying he's o-okay...that he's coming back...but he can't...n-not yet...he has to defeat a f-foe or something..."
Sarah gently rubbed Doom's back. "Doom...they were just dreams. Nico is gone. We can't bring him back, and we don't even know where he is. I wish we could, but we can't."
Doom wiped her tears away, and sniffed. "I-I know...but all of those...dreams, they...they just seemed so real. Most of me believes that he's gone, but there's that one bit...that thinks he's still out there, somewhere."
Before Sarah had the chance to respond, Michael hurried outside, clearly in a rush for some reason. "Sarah, Doom, you two need to get inside. Now."
That caused both females to quickly stand up, but Sarah was the first to actually speak up. "Why? What's wrong?"
Michael sighed. "ShadowFlame is here. And...and he wants to talk to you, Doom."
Doom was very confused. The ShadowFlame was a mysterious individual whose motives were unclear. He always showed up at various museums across the regions and such, only to collect some type of information before leaving. He wears a black cloak and a mask to distort his voice, which Michael calls a rip-off of his whole Masked Man spiel. ShadowFlame had gotten his name from the fact that he has the ability to travel through shadows, and control fire, both of which he probably gets from having Pokemon powers, or something like that. "Why does he want to talk to me of all people?"
Michael shook his head. "I have no clue whatsoever."
Doom sighed. "Alright. Well, let's go inside."
With a nod, the three of them went inside.

The ShadowFlame was standing in the middle of the battlefield that was in the Gym. "Well, well. I see you finally decided to show up, Doom." He had a bit of affliction in his voice, as if he was holding back emotions of some sort.
Doom then walked up to him, but did keep her distance. "What the hell do you want."
ShadowFlame sighed as he pulled out a Poke Ball from his cloak. "I need to tell you, all of you, something."
Doom was a bit confused, as she's never seen ShadowFlame use any of his Pokemon before. "...what is it? What could you possibly want to show me?"
Without a word, or even responding to Doom, ShadowFlame sent out the Pokemon that was contained in the Poke Ball he was holding, a Ninetales.
Doom gasped and took a step back, shaking her head. "N-no! This can't be possible! That's Nico's Ninetales! Nico is gone! He's dead!" Doom then collapsed to her knees, crying.
ShadowFlame sighed and returned the Ninetales that indeed was Nico's.

Sarah was watching from the back with Michael. "...you don't think..."
Michael shook his head. "Sarah, I don't think it's even a think at this point."
Sarah then wiped a few tears away from her eyes. "But then, why..."
Michael sighed and shook his head, and took Sarah into his embrace, who had already broken down into tears. "I don't know, and right now, I don't care. All that matters is that he's back."

ShadowFlame then kneeled by Doom, and removed his mask, and spoke quietly into her ear, speaking with an all-too familiar voice. "Doom. It's okay. I'm here now, and I've beaten Giratina. I was foolish enough to flee to Spear Pillar, where he took me captive. But I did it."
Doom then looked up, and started to tremble in unspeakable joy and happiness. Kneeling before her was the man she lost four years ago to a stupid fight. Her husband and partner in life, Nico. She then hugged him as tight as she could, and buried her face into his chest, and broke down into tears.
Nico was trying his best not to cry as he gently stroked Doom's hair. "Shhh...it's okay. I'm back now. ShadowFlame is no more. It's just me, Doom. It's just Nico. I'm back, and I plan on staying as long as I can. I don't plan on leaving any time soon."
Doom sniffed, and looked up as she wiped a few tears away, and kissed him, as he returned it. "N-Nico...even though those dreams seemed like fiction, I...I n-never gave up h-hope. Deep d-down, I knew you were still alive..."
Nico slightly smiled. "Doom, there's something I need to tell you."
She looked at him, a bit concerned. "And that is?"
"I'll stick around as long as you promise to as well, okay?" he said with a smirk on his face.
Doom couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Of course I'll stick around. I don't see why I wouldn't."
