It's been about five years since the battle between Nohr and Hoshido had ended. I mean, Hinoka is a good queen and all, but it didn't feel right without a crown prince to the Hoshidan throne.
Specifically, I was missing Takumi. It didn't take Leo that long to figure out that something was up. When I told him that I missed Takumi, he told me that he had come up with this theory that by using something that he called "Black Magic", we could bring him back, and possibly Ryoma and Mother.
So far, we've only been able to get the first part down. That was being able to successfully send me to the spirit world, and Mother was quite surprised when I arrived for the first time. However, since then, I've made many successful trips between this world and the spirit world with ease.
However, there was one person I never saw. Azura. My guess was that either she didn't want to see me, or that when she gave up her life, she completely disappeared, her spirit not even making it to the spirit world. However, this didn't stop our efforts on bringing back Takumi.===
I shook my head. "Leo, we've already tried that, and it doesn't work."
He angrily sighed as he closed the book that he reading from. "Then pray tell, what are we going to do then, Sarah?"
I didn't respond, but I did get an idea. I took the book that he had, and flipped it open to the spell we were working with, and read it to myself, and I realized why this whole thing wasn't working. "Leo, we're missing the biggest thing for this to work. Takumi's body, or any remains of it."
Leo quickly snatched the book from my hands, and looked over it himself before cursing under his breath. "...how did I miss this...regardless, as long as we can get our hands on Takumi's ashes, this should work."
Just then, Hinoka walked into the library, which was where we were at the time. "Hey. I thought I'd come and check on you. Is there anything I can get you two?"
I then turned my attention towards her, and nodded. "Actually, yeah. It may sound odd, but we'll need Takumi's ashes."
Hinoka nodded. "Right. I'll have Sakura deliver the box for you."About ten minutes later, Sakura entered the room, carrying a medium sized box, and walked over to us. "H-here you are, S-Sarah," she said with a smile.
I then took the box from her, and set it down next to the Fujin Yumi. "You can go now, Sakura."
With a nod she left the room.
I then sighed as I turned my attention back to Leo. "So, do you need to restore his body, or are we good to go?"
Leo then shook his head. "I'm not really sure. Even if I have to, I should be able to do so by myself."
I then crossed my arms. "...so you're saying that you're going to send me to the spirit world now."
Leo nodded. "Exactly. Now, you know what to do."
With a nod, I laid down on the chair that was in the room, and closed my eyes, the Shadow Yato firm in my grip.
Leo was silent for a second, as I assume he was picking up Brynhildr, and then walked over to me, and started to chant. "Oh great dragons of the realm, grant the wielder of Brynhildr the power to allow the wielder of the Shadow Yato to travel to the spirit world and return unharmed."
As soon as he finished the chant, everything started to slowly slip away as I entered the spirit world.===
When I awoke, I way lying on the ground in the Hoshidan garden, and Ryoma was by my side.
"I see you're back again," he said with a smile as he helped me up. "But I assume you're not actually dead yet, correct?"
I slightly giggled as I hugged him. "No, at least not yet. Now, we're very close to bringing Takumi back, and once we do, do you want me to come back for you and Mother?"
Ryoma sighed as he gently ran a hand through my hair. "That would be great, Sarah, but just make sure Leo doesn't push himself too much."
I nodded as I broke from the hug. "I know. Speaking of which, where is Takumi?"
Ryoma thought for a moment before responding. "I'm pretty sure he's in the courtyard."
I nodded. "Alright, thanks," I said before heading to the courtyard. When I got there, I saw Takumi, and and he was sitting on the fountain, and I walked over to him. "Hey."
He then turned to look at me. "Hm? Oh, hey Sarah. How's the progress coming along?"
I smiled and sat next to him, absentmindedly grabbing his hand. "We think we've actually got it figured out now, which is why I came."
He also smiled. "Great. I...honestly, I can't wait to get back to Hinoka...and Sakura too."
I nodded, and gently embraced him.
I then heard Leo, who was currently communicating by thought. Hey. You ready over there?
I sighed. Yeah. Just tell me when.
A few seconds later, Leo responded. Now.
I then pulled Takumi in for a kiss, and when we kissed, everything went black.===
When I came to this time, I was back in the library...and...and Takumi was lying on top of me.
I actually started to cry. Leo and I...we actually did it. We brought Takumi back.
Takumi then looked at me, slightly concerned. "Sister? Are you okay?"
I sniffed and nodded. "Y-yeah...I-I'm just so happy that this actually worked..."
I then heard Leo speak up. "Are you saying you doubted your own husband's magical abilities?"
That caused me to smile a bit. "Of course not, Leo."
Takumi smiled as he wiped some tears from my eyes. "See, sister? There's no reason for you to cry."
Leo sughed. "Right. Well, now that we know that this spell works, we can bring back Ryoma as well."
I then sat up, as did Takumi. "Wait a second...what about Mother?"
Leo shook his head. "As I was waiting, I looked a bit deeper into the spell, and it only works on the wielders of the Yato, Fujin Yumi, Raijinatio, Brynhildr, and Siegfried. I'm so sorry..."
I then looked at Takumi, who was on the verge of tears. I then gently rubbed his hand, as we were still holding them. "Takumi...it's going to be alright, you hear me?"
He closed his eyes and sighed. "Yeah. I guess you're right. Getting Ryoma back is better than getting nothing back at all..."Just at that moment, Hinoka walked into the room. "Hey, how's everything-" she cut herself off when she saw Takumi. "T-Takumi...? Is...is it really you?"
He nodded and got up as Hinoka walked over to him, and he embraced her before she broke down into tears. He then rubbed her back. "Shhh...it's okay, Hinoka...I'm back...and soon we'll have Ryoma as well..."
Hinoka sniffed. "R-really?"
Takumi nodded. "Of course. I'd never lie to you about that. I...I missed you so much Hinoka..."
She smiled. "I missed you too, Takumi. When Sakura finds out...by the grace of the gods...she's going to be overwhelmed with joy."
Takumi also smiled. "I'm sure she will be."I then looked over at Leo. I knew from experience that transferring me between the two worlds took a lot out of him. "Hey, you holding up okay?"
He nodded. "Yeah. I'll be fine. But I'd wait about a week before we go and get Ryoma. Not only do I need to recover, I also don't want to upset the balance of nature."
I nodded, understanding where he was coming from, and kissed him. "Thank you for doing this, Leo."
He smiled. "Not a problem, Sarah," he said before returning the kiss.
