The Dragon Princess

Chapter 9

Lucy POV:

When I wake up I'm not in the cell with Sakura, I'm in someones room. Rubbing my eyes I take a look around the room, its huge! it must be about five rooms all together! I look down at my clothes and notice I'm in the fresh new ones that Miss Erza gave me.

"So it wasn't a dream." I say aloud.

"No it wasn't a dream." Someone says.

I look over and notice Erza sitting in a chair next to the bed, I glance at the window and notice it must be late afternoon.

"Oh no! I'm going to be in so much trouble!" I yell and jump out of bed.

"Calm down, its ok. I spoke to Master when you fell asleep telling him that you'd be staying with me until we leave on our job." She says resting a hand on my shoulder.

"Leaving on a job?" I ask. "Where is Sakura!" 

"She's over there." She says pointing to a pink ball of fur asleep by the fire.

I breathe a sigh of relief and then sit back down on the bed, Erza brings me a glass of water and sandwich. My mouth waters as I look at the sandwich, its been a long time since I've had something like that to eat.

"Here, I had Wendy make it for you." She says passing me the plate.

I take the plate from her stuffing the sandwich into my mouth, I can only manage to get through hard the sandwich before I'm stuffed.

"Not going to finish it?" Erza asks me.

"I'm full, I haven't eaten something like that in ages so it will be a while before I can eat something like that. Can I ask you something Erza?" I ask passing her the plate.

"Sure go ahead." She places the plate down on her nightstand.

"I want my Celestial Keys, if I'm going on a job with you then I want my Keys. They are my family and I want them fighting alongside me." I say clenching my fists.

"You'll need to speak to Master about that, I can't be the one to make the decision." She says standing up. "Lets get it over with then, come on." She offers me a hand.

I stare at her in awe, she's the only guild member who seems to understand me. I take her hand and we walk to the guild hall, she opens the door and all eyes fall onto us. She quickly lets go of my hand and walks towards her team, I glance at the pink haired dragon slayer who stinks of Igneel and feel something inside me. I can't describe what I feel but it feels like nostalgia, I walk towards Master's office and knock the door.

"Come in." He says and I open the door slowly.

I walk in and he's with a blue hair girl, she has on an orange dress and headband. She's also wearing these red glasses which makes me think she likes to read, a lot.

"What can I do for you Lucy?" He asks me. "We actually wanted to ask you something so its a good thing your here." 

I sit down opposite his desk and he opens a small box with my special keys inside it.

"You have them!" I say reaching towards them.

The blue haired girl looks at me with great interest when I pick up the red key, I can feel the heat coming from it and I'm calmed.

"Why didn't it change?" She asks me.

"Why didn't what change?" I ask confused.

"Every time I tried to study the keys they would turn black, it was only this key that wouldn't change." She says picking up the crystal key.

"They changed because your not their holder, they only work for me. Mom put the spell on them so that if I was ever to loose them or someone was to steal them then they wouldn't work, and the crystal key won't change because its a teleport key. Everyone knows that." I say laughing.

They look at me strange.

"What spirits are in these keys Lucy, we need you to tell us so we can help prove your innocence." The blue haired girl says to me.

I sigh and then go to tell them when a voice sounds in my head.

Don't tell them Lucy.

"Mommy is that you?"

My darling girl, are you safe? Is Sakura with you?

"Yes she's with me, and you could say I'm safe. I'm with Iggy, Dina and Mcanna's kids." 

Are they being good to you? Never mind that, you can't tell them about the keys yet. One of our own has escaped and is on the mission your going on, its Frost who escaped. You'll need to take her key and bring her back, do you understand me?

"Yes I understand mommy, can I come back soon?"

Once your destiny has been fulfilled, Lucy Dragonite you will do amazing things.

The voice then begins to fade in my head and I have Master and the blue haired girl looking at me.

"Sorry sir...Can I take my celestial keys with me on the job? I feel lost without them." I say playing with a strand of my hair.

"Who were you talking with just now? Levy did you take notes?" Master asks the blue haired girl.

"I was talking with my mommy, she wanted to know if I was safe....can I take my keys with me?" I ask avoiding his gaze.

He sighs and passes me my zodiac keys and my belt, its a white belt with a small hook on it where my keys rest. There is a hook on both sides for both sets of my keys, while he and Levy are talking I place the red key back and pick up the white one which is freezing to the touch. I hide the key under my dress and then walk out of the office, everyone is standing with bags and things ready for our job so I walk down feeling very small between everyone.

"We're leaving early, want to run and get Sakura?" Erza asks me.

"No need." I bring my fingers to my mouth and send a loud whistle into the wind.

A pale pink bird then flies towards me and sits on my shoulder, then in a puff of smoke the bird turns into Sakura.

"Natsu why can't I do that?" A blue exceed asks Natsu.

"Don't worry Happy, that stupid Exceed has nothing on you lill' buddy." He says scratching 'Happy's head.

Erza begins to pull a large wagon filled with suitcases so I assume we'll be gone for a long time, I walk over to her and walk alongside her. Everyone seems exited about the job we'll be going on so I begin to smile too, I stop though when Natsu brushes past me and glares at me.

"Prisoners walk behind us." He snarls.

I feel angry but then leave it, I know why he's acting like this and its because I won't tell him about Iggy. I pull Frost's key from under my dress and attach it to my hip on the empty hook, I get another glare from Natsu as he plucks my Zodiac Keys from my waist.

"Hey! Give them back!" I yell trying to grab my keys.

"You don't deserve MY Lucy's keys, I'll be keeping these." He says passing them to Happy who places them into his bag.

Tears burn my eyes as we continue to walk to our destination, we arrive at the train station and Erza buy's our tickets. She even gets me one so I can sit with the others! I take the ticket from her and hold it tightly in my hands, we climb onto the train and then sit down in our seats. Only Erza and Wendy sit next to me, the others ignore me and talk over me. As the train begins to move I notice Natsu become sick, I try to stop the giggle escaping my mouth but it comes out like a snort. Natsu glares at me so I decide to sit back with Sakura and stay silent, maybe that the way to getting Natsu to like me.

Its going to be a long Mission....
