The Dragon Princess

Chapter 13

Lucy POV:

We've been training Frost for about two months now and she's managed to clear all the snow from the village, we kept her hidden while we went to collect the reward and now its time to send her back. We walk to the forest where Frost is waiting for us, when she see's me she comes running towards me. I open my arms and hold her head in my arms, she coo's softly and then looks at me with her cool purple eyes. I wait for everyone else to arrive and then give Frost one last hug.

"Its time for you to go home now Frost, your mama and papa are waiting for you." I say smiling.

I can feel the tears sting my eyes and notice that Frost is getting misty eyed too, I wipe my eyes and then smile brightly.

"Don't worry Frost, I bet I'll be home real soon! How about we send you back to Eira and Storm?" I ask and at the name of her parents she smiles happily.

I pull the key from under my dress and hold it out, I've kept this hidden because I didn't know how the others would react when I said I'd stolen it from Master's office. So Its been kept safe on a belt around my leg under my dress, I can feel everyone's eyes on me as I hold the white key. I turn around so I can explain everything to them.

"This is Frost's key, I've had it since she hatched which was when my mother Celestia created it. Every time a Dragon is Hatched the Celestial Dragon is then called to create the key and this shows what magic they have, Frost's key is white because she is the Snow Dragon taking over from her mother Eira. Her father Storm is the Blizzard Dragon so thats why Frost caused the snow storm when she arrived, and since I am Celestia's Daughter its my job to keep all the Dragon's safe. Along with their keys." I say gulping.

"So that means, the multi coloured keys you had..." Erza says shocked.

"Are the Dragon Keys?" Natsu asks.

"Yes thats right, its because I am the Elemental Dragon Slayer and also..." I start and then stop unsure if I should tell them.

"Its ok Lucy, Celestia just told me its time." Sakura says nodding to me.

I nod and then look at them all.

"I am Princess Lucy Dragonite, Princess of the Dragons." I say and feel my self go ridged.

Everyone looks at me shocked but I can't think of that right now, I need to send Frost back. I walk to an empty space of land and then hold the key high over my head.

"I, Princess of the Dragons! Command this gate to open!" I yell and feel my magic energy begin to surge. "Open Portal of the Snow Dragon!" I yell and a white portal opens up.

A swirling snow portal opens in front of me and a large head pokes through, I instantly recognise it as Storm Frost's father. He bows his head to me and then Frost runs towards the portal but not before she looks back at me and smiles, then she follows her father into the portal. It then closes leaving me exhausted, I look at the shackles on my wrist and ankles and sigh. With these on I won't be able to use my magic as well as I want to, I look at everyone with sweat dripping from my head ready for the questions they have.

"Who's going to ask the first question?" I ask sitting down and crossing my legs.

"I'll go first, what is your world like?" Carla, Wendy's Exceed asks.

"My world is similar to the world you know Edolas with its floating islands, every dragon has an island which is home to them and their descendants so Frost will live on the snow island with her mother Eira and her father Storm. However there is one island that brings us all together and that is where my home is, the island is called Hōmu shims. Translated its called..." I start but Wendy cuts me off.

"Home Island." She says in awe.

"Thats correct, whenever a dragon has an egg its brought to Hōmu Shims to be kept safe and also to be incubated by my mother Celestia. Because she is queen she is the one responsible for keeping all dragons and their young safe, they've found the best way for this is for her to incubate them." I say to Carla.

"I have a question, how is it you were born in the dragon world when your a human?" Happy asks me. "Shouldn't you be a dragon too if you live there?"

"I am different, My mother told me that when I was a baby I was brought by someone to the castle where my mother lived, it was the night of the biggest storm the Dragon Realm had ever seen. I was found in the early hours of the morning by my mother who was about to do the rounds of the islands, she found me half frozen and soaking wet. So the first thing she did was take me to the Island where Grandine was which is the forest island, she healed me and then I was taken in by Celestia. Since I was found with ten zodiac keys she summoned one of my spirits to ask if they had any information on me, the spirit she summoned was Leo. He said that somehow I was born able to use all of the keys I was with and all he said was that I had some connection with a girl called Lucy Heartfilia, so my mother named me Lucy after her." I explain and when I mention Lucy Heartfilia everyone's eyes go wide.

"Your connected to Lucy Hearftilia?" Erza asks me.

"Yeah, no one knows how. Not even Loke, thats Leo. He told me I could call him that and he said it made him smile because he loved his old master dearly." I say and then stand up. "We should head back to the village to get our things, then head back to the guild." I say and places a hand on my guild mark.

"You start walking, we'll catch up. We need to talk about something first." Erza says glancing at a tearful Natsu.

I go to argue back but then decide against it, Sakura turns into her wolf form and then sits down for me to climb onto her back. I sit down on her soft fur and she then begins to walk, I glance back and notice most of them have tears in their eyes. I turn back to face the forest and try to listen to their conversation, this time I'm grateful for my dragon slayer hearing.

"So do you think she's related to Lucy?" Grey asks.

"I'm beginning to think she's more than that, between the way she acts and how she talks about her spirits..." Erza begins but then we get too far away for me to hear them.

"Hey Sakura? Do you think they know who my parents are?" I ask.

"I don't know Lucy, but I don't think you'd want to meet them anyway. They abandoned you and left you for dead, you've been better off living with Celestia. If they had kept you who knows who you'd be today." She says while padding along the lane.

"I might not be a criminal...." I say and then lie with my head on her shoulders.

I think of the events that just happened and then fall into a dream, and in the dream a girl with golden blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes looks at me.

"Who are you?" My dream self asks.

"I am you and you are me." She whispers before fading into darkness.
