Chapter 8

Erza POV:

I can't get what Freed said out of my head. Could she be Lucy's child? I sit on my bed in Fairy Hills and look at my photo album that I started when I was a child, opening the pages carefully I'm filled with memories of past adventures. Soon i come to the pages where Lucy joined the guild, everyone is smiling happily and sometimes she looks a little annoyed if in the photo a table is flying past her head or if Natsu and Grey are fighting. I laugh slightly to my self and then close the book, today's another day and no matter how I feel I need to keep living for Lucy. I walk to my wardrobe and check there before I change into my armor, I always like to have some normal clothes with me just incase. So I take a look and notice I have some clothes from when I was little, pulling out the white blouse and grey shorts I smile slightly. I was given these not long after I came to Fairy Tail, they were from Cana who'd already been in the guild for about three years. I find the black ballet style shoes that I wore with it and place them into a bag, I then change into my traditional armor and begin to walk to the guild hall. Wendy meets me half way and we walk together with Carla sitting on her shoulder.

"Whats in the bag Erza?" She asks.

"Some clothes from when I was little, I thought that I'd give them to Lucy and see if they fit." I say showing her the clothes.

"Cute, you were about my size now!" She says laughing.

I wrap my arm around her and notice she's wearing a pale pink top with a white mini skirt.

"Looking a little like your old self today Wendy." I say smiling.

"Well the white and navy really wasn't me, I think it was just a little phase after everything." She says sighing.

I keep my arm around her and we then walk into the guild hall, Lucy is already working hard cleaning some of the tables and I notice how skinny she is.

"Lucy! Here's your glass of water and bread!" Mirajane yells to her.

Lucy nods and picks up her cleaning supplies, she walks towards the bar and picks up the small glass and plate. She walks over to a small table right in the corner of the guild and begins to eat, she finishes the bread quickly and then starts taking small sips of water. Her hair then turns a deep blue colour and her eyes turn a soft sea blue, her exceed Sakura walks over to her and Lucy passes her the last of the water which she drinks thirstily. I take this time to walk over to her with a soft smile on my face.

"Hello Lucy, how are you today?" I ask taking a seat opposite her.

"Oh um hello ma'am, I'm very well thank you." She says politely.

"I have something here for you." I say pulling out the bag.

Her eyes go wide as I pull out the contents of the bag, I pass her the top and trousers and then finally the pair of shoes.

"I can't accept these ma'am!" She says.

"Of course you can Lucy, I'll be offended if you don't take them." I say pushing the clothes towards her. "And call me Erza, not Ma'am."

"But I'll make them dirty...." She says with slight tears in her eyes.

She stands up and walks back over to the table where she was cleaning, I walk over to where Grey, Wendy and Natsu are hoping to talk to them about something.

"Hey guy's what do you say about going on a job?" I ask sitting down.

"No." Natsu says with his head on the table.

"Why not?" Wendy asks resting a hand on his shoulder.

"Because she'll have to come, and she won't tell me where Igneel is." he says.

Grey then slaps his head which causes Natsu to send a flaming fist as his face.

"Enough fighting!" I yell at the two of them.

They glance at me and then sit down.

"We'll be taking a job and thats final, we'll take a long one too." I say and walk to the S-Class board.

I look over the jobs there and notice one that will last for three months, fantastic. I take the job from the board and take it to Master, he looks over it and then sighs.

"You understand that Lucy will need to go with you right?" He says glancing at the request. "The Exceed too."

"I understand that Master, do we have your acceptance to go?" I ask.

"Yes, just take care my child." He says and stamps the job.

I walk down to the team and show them the job request, its to save this town which has had constant snow for the past week. It's caused half the town to be buried in the stuff and they are hoping someone can help them.

"Sounds good, when do we leave?" Natsu asks his eagerness running high.

"In the morning, there are some things I have to do first." I say and we go our separate ways for the day.

I walk over to Lucy who is exhaustedly cleaning the guild with a sweeping brush now, she must have finished the tables. I notice her bandages are looking new so that must mean Porlyusica has treated her eye, lets just hope she won't have the same problem as I did.

"Lucy we'll be going on a job tomorrow and you'll be coming with us. I'm taking you back to Fairy Hills to get you cleaned up before we go anywhere, and you have to come." I say and she just nods tiredly.

I take her hand and lead her up to Fairy Hills and the first place I take her is the baths. I take her clothes off her and then help her into the water, a soft sigh of happiness escapes her mouth.

"Feels nice to have a bath doesn't it?"  I ask.

"Yeah, this feels amazing. Miss Erza, why are you being so nice to me, I'm just a prisoner."  She says hanging her head.

"Its because I was like you once, I was in a place called the Tower Of Heaven and I was treated like a prisoner. Beatings and having to work horrible hours, so I have an idea of what your going through. Now lets wash your hair." I say and continue to help her wash until she's fully clean.

I help her out of the water and then dry her off as she sits in front of me, taking this alone time I ask her some questions about when she was younger.

"Was your hair and eyes always the pale colour they are now?" I ask brushing her hair.

"No when I was little I had blonde hair and green eyes, but the more magic I learned the paler my hair and eyes went." She explains. "Its because when I use my element my hair and eyes change colour."

Blonde hair and Green eyes?

After I help her change into the clothes I gave her she looks like a new child, I pick her up in my arms as she falls asleep sitting in the chair and then take her to my room. She starts talking in her sleep, trying to catch some of the words she says I place her down on my bed.

"Please....mommy...." She whispers in her sleep.

"I'll help you find out who you are, I swear it." I say and just watch her sleep.
