The Dragon Princess

Chapter 15

Lucy POV:

Its been a long five days in my cell, Natsu's team has been talking to me through the little window which allows me to see into the guild hall but I'm still starving hungry. When I was with the others I was getting three meals a day and I was even beginning to put on a little weight, but all that weight is gone now. My ribs stick out through my white dress and my cheeks are slightly sunken, Sakura tried to sneak me a crust of bread from her meal but she was caught and punished. Not physically though she was just told off, but it still hurt. I looked at the cell door and notice one of the guild members is opening it, I think her name was Bisca?

"Master said you can come out now, Mira has some food for you at the bar." She says adjusting her pistol that rests on her hip.

"Thank you Bisca." I say and walk out of the cell.

Walking back to the floor of the guild hall the sunlight blinds me slightly, its dark and dingy in the cell so its nice to be back in daylight. Mirajane smiles at me and points to a steaming bowl of something in front of her, I run over excitedly and notice its a bowl of ramen. The smells fill my nose and my mouth begins to salivate slightly, as I take my seat Sakura comes flying over to me.

"How are you feeling Lucy?" She asks sitting on the bar counter next to my bowl.

"Hungry." I say and press my hands together. "itadakimasu" I then begin to eat the ramen.

"How is it Lucy?" Mira asks me.

"Its really good!" I manage to say with a mouthful of food.

"I'm glad you like it, master wanted me to tell you that once you've finished to head to his office. He didn't say what he wanted to talk to you about." She says and walks off to serve drinks.

I finish my bowl of ramen scraping the last couple of drops from the bowl and then I pick up Sakura in my arms and walk to Master's office. Giving a soft knock on the door I step inside. Master sits at his desk and Natsu's team is here too, Master smiles at me and then motions for me to come and sit on the chair by his desk.

"How are you Lucy?" He asks me.

"Not too bad, its nice to be out of my cell now." I say and notice my keys are on the desk.

"Pick them up if you'd like." He says eyeing me carefully.

I look at my two sets of keys and gulp, is this a test? Will I be punished again if I grab them? Trusting my gut I reach for the golden keys, instantly I feel better with them in my grasp. Then I look at my other keys and I pick them up too, voices fill my head of gratitude that they're back with me and I smile slightly.

"Now young Lucy, I would like to remove your shackles now." Master says and jumps onto his desk.

"Take them off?" I ask shocked.

"This team is going to train you so that we can show the council you can be trusted to say permanently in the guild, I see how good you've been and know that you can be trusted. The rest of the guild agrees with me." He says and then waves his hands over my shackles.

They crack and fall from my wrists and I feel my magic energy rising quickly, the others look a little shocked at first but then relax. Erza walks over to me and places a hand on my shoulder.

"We will teach you our magic, it will help people to see that your a good person. Might we begin now Master?" She asks smiling.

"Yes, take her to the forest near the home of Porlyusica, there is a clearing there where you'll be able to train and develop your magic." Master says and then we all leave the room. Erza takes me into a room and gives me fresh new clothes to wear, she even brushes my hair for me.

"Its grown Lucy, its down to your waist now!" She says cheerfully.

"The council cut it when I was with them, they said it would make it easier to work with short hair. I never liked my short hair though, it was much nicer long like this." I take the brush from her hand and then style my hair into a side ponytail with the rest of my hair hanging down my back in a silky curtain.

"All ready?" She asks me offering me a hand.

"Yeah, lets show those snooty council members that I'm good." I say taking her hand.

We exit the room and then follow the others to the forest, its a beautiful day with a summer breeze blowing through the air softly. The trees rustle slightly from the wind and the grass feels soft under my feet, Erza didn't have any shoes that fit me so I said I'd go barefoot. Once we reached the forest clearing the team members stopped and turned to face me.

"Now Lucy, our magic is strong so it could take you time to learn it all. From what we've seen your dragon slayer magic is incredible so for now you will only be learning maker magic and re-quip. And now with your shackles off you'll be able to master these spells, are you ready to begin?" Erza asks me.

"Yes, and I know someone who can help me learn maker magic. Frost's father, he's the one who taught me maker magic in the first place." I say and pull out a clear ice key.

"Wouldn't hurt to try, I wanna see who taught you anyway." Natsu says smiling at me.

I nod and then step to the middle of the field.

"I princess of the dragons command this gate to open!" I yell and feel snow begin to flutter around my body changing my appearance. "Open gate of the Blizzard Dragon! Storm!"

In a flurry of snow and magic a huge form begins to appear growing bigger and bigger until Storm stands before me bowing his large head to me.

"Princess Lucy Dragonite, it will be my honour to serve you. What will you have me do?" He asks smiling.

"This is where the fun really starts." I hear Sakura whisper.
