The Dragon Princess

Chapter 10

Lucy POV:

I felt my shoulders being shook waking me from sleep, opening my eyes I noticed it was Wendy. She told me that we had reached our stop and we would need to walk the rest of the way due to the snow. Sakura sat on my shoulder as I stood up and followed the sky dragon slayer out of the carriage, and onto the train platform. Everyone had changed into clothes to prepare for the weather, jumpers, boots, thick coats, scarves and mittens. The only ones who didn't have clothes for the weather were Grey and me, Grey because he never gets cold with his magic and me because I didn't have any clothes to begin with. Erza looks at me a little concerned but doesn't say anything, Happy however fly's over to me and passes me a scarf. Its a little worn and smells strongly of fish but the gesture was enough for me.

"Thank you Happy." I say taking the pale blue scarf from him.

We begin to walk to the destination of the request with the wind whipping around our shoulders and the snow covering our hair, Sakura nestled into my chest trying to keep warm while the others looked at me with concern.

"I'll be fine, lets just help these people." I say and march on.

As we keep walking my teeth begin to chatter and my breath comes out in a white cloud. I feel like my toes will be freezing off if I don't get some heat on them soon, I then feel a soft coat being wrapped around my shoulders. Instantly I feel a lot better, pulling the coat tighter around my body I notice it seems too big to belong to Erza or Wendy. I look up and see that Natsu no longer has a coat on, he pulls his scarf a little tighter around his neck as he ignores me.

"Thank you....Natsu..." I whisper into the wind.

After about another ten minutes we reach a small town thats buried in snow, while walking here you don't realise how much snow there is. Only the top half of the houses are visible, and as we enter the town we walk through tunnels that have been carved out in the snow so people can move from place to place.

"Miss Erza, how long has it been like this?" I ask as we try and find the mayors office.

"Believe it or not Lucy its been about a week, maybe less." She says pulling her scarf over her mouth.

With some help from locals we find our way to the mayors office, the door opens and we all rush into the heat. The snow melts off our bodies leaving us soaking wet, a young woman with soft blonde hair and blue eyes walks over to us with a smile on her young face.

"Welcome wizards, please head into those rooms over there to dry off and change into new clothes." She smiles and then her eyes fall onto me. "This young girl can't possibly be a wizard like you! How old are you child?" She asks walking over to me.

"I'm seven years old ma'am, its a pleasure to meet you." I say curtsying to her.

"What a little darling!" She says pinching my cheeks.

Sakura then pops out of my coat as we walk into our changing room, before we go though I walk to Natsu holding his coat.

"Thank you." I say passing it to him.

He looks at me shocked and then takes his coat closing the door. I sigh and then walk into the girls changing room, pulling my clothes off I squeeze the water out of them and then begin to place them back on.

"You can't wear those Lucy, you'll freeze to death!" Sakura says to me.

"I know but I don't have anything else, my other dress is at the guild hall." I say sighing.

"Maybe I can help!" She says and turns into her pixie form.

In this form she has deep pink hair, bright blue eyes, pale pink wings and a cute little outfit depending on her mood. Right now she has a pale white and pink striped top and jeans, with little silver dolly shoes. She waves her hand over my and changes my outfit into something much warmer, a pale pink dress with thick skin coloured tights and brown boots. I walk out to find I'm the first one changed, so I adjust my belt on my hips and then look out of the window. I don't know what I was expecting to see because all I can see is a thick layer of compacted white snow, the next one out is Grey, followed by Natsu, Erza and then finally Wendy.

"Where did you get the clothes from?" Natsu asks me.

I hold my hand out and Sakura flies into my hand.

"A fairy?!" Wendy asks her eyes glowing.

"She's a pixie, Sakura here gave me some new clothes using her magic." I say smiling.

Sakura then turns from her pixie form back into her exceed form and sits in my arms, we walk into the office of the mayor. He's got deep black hair and ice blue eyes which match the cold weather outside, he's dressed in a black suit with a deep blue tie.

"Ah Fairy Tail wizards, its a pleasure to have you here in our town. We welcome you and urge you to help us, there have been sightings of a monster of some kind who has been cursing our town. We are famous for our constant heat and are a popular destination for honeymooners, please if this snow doesn't clear then we won't be able to plant food which feeds our town." He says with a pleading look in his eyes.

"Don't worry sir, we'll be able to help you." I say smiling.

"Hush Lucy." Natsu says.

The mayor looks at us shocked but then smiles slightly.

"You will be saying in the hotel just two streets away from here, will there be anything that I can do to make your time here easier?" He asks us.

"No that will be enough sir, we will try our best to stop the plague on this town." Erza says smiling.

We leave the office and the other go to collect their bags, while Sakura and I wait for them to come out I pull out Frost's key. Holding it in my hands I think about running to find her before the others try anything, I walk to the doorframe when I feel a warm hand on my shoulder pulling me back. I turn around to come face to face with Natsu who pulls Frost's key from my hand, instantly it turns black in his hand.

"Whats this key?" He asks me.

"Give it back Natsu!" I yell trying to get it off him.

"Looks like I broke it anyway, here." He drops it onto the floor.

I bend down and pick it up, it then turns back to white in my hand. I attach it onto my hip and glare at Natsu who sends a devilish glare at me, his anger burns into my soul and he then turns his back to me.

"I don't know what I did to make you angry." I mutter.

"You look like the only person I ever loved, thats what you did wrong." He says sighing.

With everyone finally ready to leave we make our way to the hotel, and I can't help but feel hurt by Natsu's words. I make him angry because I look like someone he loved? Strange.
