"Are you really Gwen?" Tristan asked looking a little hurt.
He was hurt that I was naming the second member of my council and that it was not him. Tristan had every right to be hurt.
I nodded. "Yes, I want to name one member from every species first then name the second members." I smiled kindly at him. "Which everyone in the Kingdom of Pangaea knows will be you."
He rolled his eyes.
"I already consider you part of my council Lord Stupid. But everyone needs to know that everyone is to have a fair shot." I smile kindly.
He sighed frustrated. "But Ambrogio! Out of all vampires in the kingdoms and all the lands!
You choose, Ambrogio."
"He is one of the oldest living vampires around aside the Vampire Council. How can I not ask him to be part of my council?" I argued.
He grunted. "Chamania tell her how absurd it is that she is inviting the undead barbaric idiot to her council."
Chamania only sighed. "My apologies;" She let out a breath and turned to Tristan, "But 'tis not absurd. Her and Ambrogio do have a connection. It is not true love, I believe it is loyalty to the crown and to Gwendolyn herself. Gwen and Ambrogio, there's just...there's just something between them but I know it is not love."
I nodded in agreement. "You've felt it as well!" She shook her head. "No. I've seen. There's no way in heaven and hell have I felt it." She chuckled. "Oh Gwen. Only you would feel it."
I furrowed my brows and shook my head. "No, Chamania I mean you've felt it as well. Between you and me!"
She looked completely confused and startled.
I chuckled. "The instant connection we had and the friendship that grew so easily! We were instant friends for sure!"
Her eyes widened. "Oh my stars! Yes!" She was grinning from ear to ear. "Is - is that how you felt with Ambrogio?"
"Not immediately. With all the tension between the Elite and the vampires at first, it was hard to. Also, we began of rocky. Ambrogio wanted to feed on me the first time we met." I told our history.
Their eyes widened in horror. It was written all over their faces.
"He desired my blood more than any vampire has desired Pangaean blood that I have ever known." I spoke softly.
"And I will always want a drop of your sweet blood for as long as I shall live my undead life." Ambrogio was standing inside the Queen's Council chambers, his dark eyes locked onto me.
Tristan stepped in front of the seat I now sat in, and faced Ambrogio. "How can you even be trusted near her?"
His eyes landed on me, he furrowed them and momentarily looked confused. "She is my Queen, I would take a stake to the heart by my worst enemy before I let anyone touch a hair on her head."
I smiled at him. "Ambrogio, please come and sit."
He bowed to me and walked around the common room. Tristan's eyes on him every step of the way. I raised my arm and grabbed his lightly and smiled up to Tristan, in an attempt to comfort him. It did him good as he sat on the lounge beside me and I never pulled my hand away from him.
"How have you been Amborogio?" Chamania asked.
He nodded. "Well. The vampire Council are attempting to steer clear of the Revolution in anyway."
Steering clear of the Revolution. Oh my stars, well what I am about to do would not help the Vampire Council. Vampires all over Pangaea would hate me. I couldn't force him to join my council so, I guess I would give him the choice. Everyone had a choice.
I looked over to Chamania and sighed.
"Gwen?" She furrowed her brows.
Instead of looking at her I looked over to Ambrogio who stared at me. "Ambrogio; I do not want to force anything on you. So, I shall give you a choice, one you may sleep on my friend." He furrowed his brow but I gave him a small smile. "Ambrogio it would be an honour to have you on my Queen's Council. To represent the Vampires and aid me in my reign as Queen."
A smile grew on his face. One that had only ever been malicious and now, now there was pure joy in there that looked like it had been missing for centuries. It made my heart soar and I think it made his full. Ambrogio, looked more gorgeous than he had ever before when I had laid eyes on him.
"But," I took a deep shaky breath. "if the Vampires Council are steering clear of The Revolution you do not have to join my Queen's Council of yet. When this is all over you may join if you still wish to." I smiled at him. "It would be an honour to have you. I leave the decision in your hands my friend."
His smile never faltered and his eyes never left mine. Not even for a moment. It was so beautiful and stunning. My heart was racing and I felt so nervous.
"Your grace, it would be my honour to sit on your Council and aid you in your reign." He grinned. "Now. Not after The Revolution. But now."
I squeezed Tristan's hand lightly and took in the biggest breath I had ever before. It was made my so glad to have him on my council and I felt more pleased than I had in a long time. Immediately I walked over to him and hugged him tightly. He returned the hug but probably lightly and not using his full strength.
"Welcome to the Queen's Council." Chamania smiled and shook his hand.
It was probably unusual to see a Pangaean and a Vampire showing as much affection as we were at the moment. When I let go, I stepped back into step with Tristan who had his Dark Lord facade on. He caught me staring at him and I raised my brows at him.
He sighed. "Fine." He looked over to Tristan and let out his hand. "Welcome to the Queen's Council. I do not completely trust you with the Gwen."
Ambrogio chuckled. "Of course and I do not expect you to."
