A/N:

It's two days before Christmas, how are you guys? 😊

Okay so here is another update for you. It's relatively short though. But I intend to post another Chapter later tonight once it's done. I know you miss Andrew already. Hihi!

Anyway, here it is! Enjoy!

PS: Not Edited.

You might also want to listen to Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift. I find it suitable for this Chapter too. 😉 Go on now. Thanks!

"Hey, what is it, sweetie? What is it?" I can't help but smile as Annika plays with the picture book I brought for her today.

"You like it do you? Oh you really like it, huh?" I held her little hand as she continuously flips and lifts the book with her other hand while giggling. For a six almost seven months old, she sure knows how to appreciate things.

"Miss Kiara, I'm sorry for the intrusion but it's time for baby Annika's bath." Walking towards our direction is a middle aged woman, more or less on her late thirties, wearing a plain pink scrub suit with her auburn hair neatly tied in a bun whose name I believe is Grace–one of Annika's nannies smiles politely, shifting her gaze from me to the innocent baby playing beside me.

I stopped her from picking Annika up causing her to look at me confusedly. "Sorry for being such a bother, I know it's your job to take care of her but is it okay if I—if I will be the one to bathe her?" I babbled sheepishly.

She looks at me warily at first seeming so hesitant with my sudden pleading but then she gave me a warm smile. "Sure Miss. The tub is already taken care of. I will be preparing her clothes and milk while you take her to bath."

She is scanning the closet when I called her name. She then spun around to look at me with a calm smile. "Yes Miss?"

"Uhm... Thanks, I guess?" I smiled curtly.

"It's my pleasure to help, Miss. Besides, I'm honestly happy to see that finally, Annika has someone closer to a mother to take care of her." I was taken aback by her response but I didn't let her know that. Grace is not looking at me when she said those last words but to Annika. I felt my curiosity heightened.

"Ahm... Grace?" I trailed off to catch her attention back to me.

"Yes Miss?" She asked still with a smile as she shifts her gaze from Annika to me.

"I was just w-wondering... I was just wondering if..." I started off, staggering with the right words to say. Grace stares at me with expectant eyes as she patiently waited for me to continue.
