Thank You Jordan

Phil stayed well beyond midnight. We spent infinite hours recalling all our childhood adventures. Jordan listened with curiosity sparkling from his pores. Allissa's eyes widened and shrunk with every chapter of memories.
I smile thinking about dinner, and how I finally found my friend I spent years searching for.
I trudge upstairs, my stomach tightening each step, but the smooth cinnamon scent calms my muscles, nearly lulling me to sleep.
I creek the door of my room open, anxious for my warm bed to absorb my body and send me to a land of dreams. However, I'm greeted by Jordan sitting shirtless on my bed, waiting patiently for me as if he'd been waiting his whole life.
"Hi, Jordan." I yawn, sitting next to him on the bed.
"So, you're pregnant?" He asks peacefully.
"Yeah." I answer "Trust me, it's your's."
"Who else's would it be?"
"Good point." I smile, my fingers caressing my stomach.
He bends over and kisses my stomach. "I can't believe I get to have a child with you."
"Neither can I." I lay down.
He lays down next to me and pecks my lips. His hands rest on my stomach as he whispers "I love you so much. I don't know if you're going to be a boy or a girl, but I really don't care. I don't care if you'll love me or not, just promise you'll love your mother. She's so amazing, it's damn impossible to not."
To that, I close my eyes and start sucking his neck.
His stubble scratches my shoulder as he rests his head on it.
He murmurs "Thank you."
Steak and cigarettes are identifiable in his slow, heavy breath.
My tongue licks the hickey I gave him, it faded to a light hue of lavender with dark purple lining. He holds in a moan as I start to suck harder.
He nestles his head into my shoulder "Touch my hair." He whispers, his smoky breath calming my senses.
No more than a second later, I run my hand through his soft, brunette hair. He nestles his head deeper into my shoulder. His stubble prickles my skin, but I don't care.
"Thanks, love." He whispers, kissing my cheek.
"No problem." I smile, still petting his hair "Hey, Jordan?"
"Yeah?" He asks, my eyes fixated on his millions of fading cuts.
"Thanks for caring." I smile "Thanks for helping Kate and the child you had with her. Thanks for convincing me that I was wrong, and that you really did love me. Thanks for letting me have your kid. Just thank you for everything!"
He pulls me as close as I can to him. His arms snake around my waist as his lips stamp themselves with mine.
He quickly releases me from his soothing kiss "You're welcome, Randi."
Five minutes later, he falls asleep, still hugging me.
I think to myself: I'm sorry for almost leaving the best person in the world.
"I love you, Charlie Scene." I whisper, burrowing my head into his soft chest as his heavy, smoke scented breath lulls me to sleep.
