Back in our world, we return to Matthew and Alena.
They are 22/21

"It's too soon," Alena whispered to herself, her eyes filled with fear as she looked down at the test. Alena was pregnant, even though she was on birth control and Matthew had always worn a condom, she had a fetus growing inside her stomach.
She had no time to tell Matthew, he had already departed for 5 months, and by the time he would come back her stomach would already be growing. This isn't something you tell someone over the phone either, they were having a baby!
Her back hit the wall and she slid down, throwing the test to the floor as her face landed in the palms of her hands. She rubbed them over her eyes and sighed.
"Stupid, stupid girl, you haven't even gotten married yet! You only needed a few more months and you would have a happy life and THEN start thinking about children, not... not this," Alena scolded herself, tears slipping from her eyes.
She was thinking the absolute worse. She wasn't prepared for people to ask if the marriage caused the baby or if the baby caused the marriage. This wasn't her plan, she had conjured up a dream future with Matthew but it didn't seem clear that that would happen anymore.
Getting up from the bathroom floor, she threw away the test and walked into her shared bedroom with Matthew. She laid herself down, and began searching on her phone for pregnancy clinics to get the most accurate results.
Not only did she do that, she went online and looked for foods to change her diet, for the health of the baby. Even though it would be a mistake, she would take care of it with all she had until her father returned home.
She was stable, financially and emotionally, it was just unexpected. Matthew had talked about kids before and wanting them, but Alena wanted to wait. Of course, that was a year ago, who knows if Matthew would want kids now, right?
Alena's thoughts flourished with both negativity and the constant reminder that this could be a good thing, maybe the baby will bring Matthew and Alena closer than they've been before.
But then again, how would she tell Matthew in 5 months time?
