"I just want to feel something other than this aching in my heart. I want to feel loved."
& now, Alena and Matthew are 13/14.

"Unbelievable," I muttered, ripping up the note in my hands. I threw the little pieces of paper to the floor and stood up from my seat, walking over to Matthew's table.
As much as I tried to have a steady relationship with a girl that I liked and I had chosen to call mine, it seemed nonviable. I don't know why or how but I always had bad luck when it came to relationships -- Matthew however, has been doing great in the relationship department. Getting a new one every month or so.
"Hey, can we talk?" I ask Matthew, choking down the tears as best as I could. Matthew looked up at me, a concerned look on his face while his boyfriend, Anthony, merely gave me a glance.
"Babe, I'll be right back," Matthew told Anthony, giving him a small kiss and standing up from the seat.
Anthony mumbled a simple okay, and Matthew grabbed my hand, trudging towards the hallway.
"What's wrong?" Was the first thing that came out of Matthew's mouth. I blinked at him a few times, and then a sob erupted from my throat.
"She broke up with me through a damn note," I rasped, my eyes watering.
"Wait what? I'll fucking kill her. Y'all were doing so well! Why did she do this!?" Matthew whisper-yelled, becoming satisfyingly infuriated.
His jaw was clenched handsomely, and his hair was bouncing up and down with every dramatic, exaggerated motion he made.
"Don't talk like that, you know you'll have to spend an hour on your phone if a school master caught you saying those words!" I whispered frantically, trying to calm him down.
"Does it look like I care!? Melina hurt you! I swear I told you she was a little classy girl right when you had the heart eyes for her. Gosh, I shouldn't have let this happen I swear if I see her I'll--" I cut him off by hugging him briefly.
"Stop talking," I mumbled, not wanting to hear the rest. "She wasn't really the one for me anyways, I saw that she was texting like four other girls one time when I went through her phone."
"Classic classy girl," Matthew mumbled, hugging me back. He wrapped his arms around my waist while I breathed in the fresh scent of a cologne I only recognized with him.
"Hey hey hey, look at these disgusting freaks," An older boy in the ninth grade mumbled, pointing out Matthew and I.
Matthew quickly let go and stuck his hands to his sides, me looking away quickly.
"What? You afraid some one will make fun of y'all?" The older boy asked, laughing at us madly.
"No, he has a boyfriend," I interject, not wanting anyone else to see the commotion.
"Oh.. Does he know that he likes girls like a little faggot?" The boy asks, smirking slightly while gazing at Matthew.
Matthew's jaw clenched, and he flexed slightly. "Don't call me that."
By the way Matthew's muscles were working and teeth were grinding I can tell he was about to fight the boy -- Matthew had heard that word a lot, mostly directed to bis parents; That's why he hated it.
((I hate it too like wtf it's such a rude word.. but anyways continuing))
"Why? You gonna do something about it, faggot?" The boy asked, stepping towards Matthew.
Then, Matthew's fists clenched and he breathed out deeply.
"Just walk away before I do something stupid."
The older boy stood still, and merely glanced amusingly towards Matthew and I.
"Guys, cmon let's just forget this happened," I mumbled, tugging on Matthew's arm a little.
Matthew's whole arm drooped, and it was as if I casted a spell on him. His jaw unclenched and his fists released, he looked mutual now.
Matthew glanced towards me, and smiled, nodding his head.
"What? Your gonna listen to your little girlfriend?" The older boy chuckled.
Matthew turned towards the boy and shook his head. "I have a boyfriend."
My face dropped a little, and I let go of Matthew's arm. Something in my heart pulled and tugged on my emotions, I hadn't felt it before-- Well, maybe I have, but not this bad.
"Whatever, I don't have time for a little gay boy anyways," The older boy said and walked away.
"I'm gonna ignore he said that," Matthew sarcastically smiled, and looked at me. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just thinking of.. Melina. I still kinda feel bad... I mean, I just want to feel something other than this aching in my heart. I want to feel loved." I told him, rubbing my temples.
"Who knows? We're still so young, it takes time to meet someone special," Matthew flashed his award-winning smile at me, and hugged my side.
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
