"Holy son-of-a-motherless-goat!" I was muttering to myself in the car while Cam drove silently, "I mean, I knew he was a jackrabbit, but... to think he'd try to... do something like that..."

Cameron glared out the window I heard him give out an angry hiss of a sigh, "Sick ball of slime, I ought to go back there and put him in a coma. Are you sure you're alright?" He questioned. It's funny he's dripping with outrage and he's still making sure I'm fine.

I looked up at him, a mix of concern and bewilderment, "You're asking if I'm ok? You're the one who went on a punching spree, Big-dog." I picked up calling everyone Big-dog from Matt. Growing up all I had was Matt; my oldest brother, Brennan, never really let me near him. I stayed around Matthew, learning how to hang with any crowd. I just blended, by the time I was in school the only friends I could make were either guys or they were 3-4 years older than me. It took me several years to make actual friends, all I had were people who didn't, not like me.

Cam just looked at me, he let out a big sigh, "Sorry, I got a little... intense. I just... No one should ever even fathom such a terrible thing, especially to such a good person."

I let out an awkward puff, "Well geez... ok then." He looked at me and I gave him a little grin, he shook his head a little. I turned and looked out the window as we pulled up at his house. "Sorry you had to save my tail hide," I muttered as I got out of the car.

He slammed his door as he got out, "Don't you ever apologize for that! I don't want to think about what would've happened if I wasn't there, but you can believe I'd do it again in a heartbeat. No way in hell is anyone gonna disrespect you like that!" He was so angry I couldn't believe it. I'd never seen him this mad, he's always so laid back and happy.

Although the words he said were flattering, his tone scared me into stepping away. He was still seething as he took a step, making up for step I took. I took another, then he took one, then the process repeated for two more steps each before I ran. Damn right I ran! Into his house up the stairs and into my room, I slammed that door and backed away before I could think twice. I wadded myself up in blankets while on the bed as I stared at the door, scared of who might bust through it.

To my surprise though, all I heard was a little knock, "I..I'm sorry, I just... don't be mad. Can I come in?"

Holy mother of a cow, he sounds honestly sad, I can't tell him no. I squeaked out a sure as he poked his head in. "I..." he faltered. He obviously wasn't mad anymore, but he got so angry at me just for saying sorry. He was so angry I thought he was gonna hit me out there.

"I don't... you don't need to... alright I might as well tell you. So... from the first time we hung out, my first year out of highschool when Matt was still bumming off your parents. I came over and there you were, piled on the couch. Ever since then, I started to come over more and more and we would hang out-"

"I remember that conversation while we three watched My All American."

Flashback

It was right at the part where his leg gets amputated. "Hey Matt, you-nevermind... your sister's here.

I turned around and glanced at him curiously, then shrugged and turned back guessing he wasn't gonna tell us.

The second I turned around I heard him, "I wonder which side he would use with his leg off," he turned to Matt, "You know how you pick the left or the right side?"

"I don't really pick a side," Matt said obviously embarrassed by the conversation.

"Oh well I typically choose the left side-"

"I'm done! Nope, no more! Goodnight!" I hollered practically running out of the room.

Flashback over

He sighed, "Yes I remember. Anyway, I took every opportunity I could to be with you. Did you ever think that was strange?" I nodded, letting him continue, "that's because... believe me when I say this, I'm a werewolf and you're my mate." He said looking at me, waiting to see my reaction.

"PROVE IT!!!" I hollered playfully. No way in hell was I that gullible. He just shrugged  cause I wasn't gonna fall for it.

Then I heard a snap, then another, then he doubled over. More snaps followed, then I turned my head, I couldn't watch this. Then I heard nothing. I turned to look at Cameron and all I saw was gray, a gray blob on the floor.

The gray, wolf-thing laid with its head on its paws. Is... is this Cam?! My eyes started to water, I wanted Cam back, "C-C-Cameron? Are you there?" The wolf whimpered and crawled forward keeping its self low to the floor.

I had one or two tears slipped out of my eyes, I was so scared. I scooted away and turned toward the wall. I heard more snaps and I curled up in am even tighter ball.

"Jade? I-I'm so sorry. I didn't want to scare you. I just... I wanted you to know. You needed to know," he took a step forward and gently grabbed my arm, "I'm sorry..."

I looked at him he had a single man tear running down his face. That did me in I'm a sucker when it comes to man tears, I started balling at that.

Not tooooo bad, right?
