Pizza Rolls

(Still Cam's POV)

I reminisced in the memory. I had been so nervous to speak to her; never did I imagine we'd end up where we are, us so comfortable with each other.

She trusted me, she loved me. My heart swelled at just the thought that she loved me. Such a beautiful, perfect, true girl could love me.

Overwhelmed with pride I snuggled her into my chest. I buried my face in her hair and breathed in her scent. There was no discernable, recognizable smell to it, just her. I relaxed at the familiar flavor of fragrance that drifted from her body and fell asleep like a toddler at nap time.

I was alone... all that was around me was woods. I was stumbling through the woods lost and looking for something that for the life I of me I couldn't remeber what it was. I knew that I needed to find it, it was the only thing that mattered in that moment.

A pop rang from my right, just outside of my peripheral vision. I took another step forward, straining my ears to see if anything moved, I heard a breath. Not a gasp or a cry, just breathing. I turned to see none other than Jade in front of me. The sight of her reassuring everything was going to be alright.

My hopes were shattered. She looked at me and burst into tears. It wasn't until I went to move towards her that I realized she was looking past me, at whatever the hell held me back. I struggled to rip myslef away as I watched her body heave and shudder as sobs overtook her.

Then something grabbed her. An unseen force of shadows had crept up to her and gently pulled her into the darkest depths of the forest. The deformed figure of shadows swallowing her into its body and all I could do was watch in horror. I fought harder and just when I thought I was going to break free-

"C-Cam! Cameron wake up!" My eyes shot open to find Jade hovering above me with fear etched into her features. "What the hell happened, I left you to make some pizza rolls for lunch and when I came back you were thrashing around and grabbing at air."

I barely let her finish before I shoved her down to my chest and held her there. I let the shudders that had unbeknownst to me taken over my body while I was dreaming rake through me until they calmed.

She knew that I didn't need words of comfort in that moment. No, I needed her. She held me back and played with the ends of my hair while I calmed down. She occasionally whispered sweet mutterings to me as she mindlessly fiddled with a particular tuff of hair that seemed to be fascinating her.

When I was good and calm again I pulled back enough to look at her, "What time is it? How long was I asleep?" She had said she'd made pizza rolls for lunch, did I sleep all morning?

She turned and grabbed the food as she informed, "It's 1:30 so you slept for about three and a half hours." I reached over her shoulder as she spoke and relieved her of a pizza roll from her plate. She turned to snatched it from me but I'd already popped it into my mouth. She smacked my arm and pushed my hand away when I reached for another.

"Alright short stuff-"

"I'm not short," she murmured cutting me off.

"Whatever you say," I replied with an eye roll, "anyway, you don't get to leave me, ruining my perfect sleep by bringing on that nightmare, to make food and not share. That's just not nice." I informed her with my head high.

She cocked an eyebrow up at me, taunting, daring me to try and take another. Who am I to deny my mate. I reached for the plate and when she pulled it out of my reach I diverted my hand to her arm, "I said that wasn't nice, little bit."

As soon as the words rushed from my mouth that playful glare was back. "Call me short, or small, or little again and I'll..." she was going to say that she'd bite me but as the thought flowed from her head to mine she realized she really wanted to. She wanted to mark me. She want the whole world to know that I was hers.

'I'm all for it. I'm not gonna stop you, pup.' Kaigen whispered into her head. He pushed himself to the forefront of my head as he realized his mate wanted to make him hers.

It was too hard for her to say the words out loud. I could tell that she was to scared of the answer to them, 'I don't... I don't want it to hurt you. It hurt a lot...' even saying it through the link it came out as a whisper.

I grinned at her knowingly, my voice came out gruff because of how close to the surface Kaigen was, but I fought to regulate it, "Sweet. I'm a big strong man, believe me, it won't be like that for me. Remember, when you were marked you also changed. All I'm getting is claimed." I held her close to me as I whispered to her.

She took a deep breath and nodded, "... alright..." I watched her close her eyes, she felt around the base of my neck, her fingers trailed the muscle teasingly. She eased forward and gently began to suck on the skin. Before I realized she was actually gonna do it she had her teeth in my neck.
