Chapter 15

They had been going for ages and drove into the early evening. The sun was orange and the sky was pink and it looked beautiful. Unfortunately to spoil it, the Hunters were back on their trail and were closing in on them fast. Jake was gripping his shoulder having found some bandages in the glove compartment of Roan's car. Roan could only wipe the blood from her eyes, but it was bleeding quite badly. She couldn't stop for anything, it was too risky. She tried to keep the weak Jake from blacking out.

"So, tell me more about the three." She said.

"Can I trust you?" He asked.

"Yes of course you can." Roan tried to sound like she meant it and clearly it worked.

"I'll tell you if you stay with me and my family for a while. You don't know much quite clearly and are seeking a teacher. I have a tutor and there is also my siblings and my dad...to be honest we're as powerful as your going to get. Unless your in a rush to get to somewhere."

Roan pursed her lips and pretended to think about it.

"All right...fine, but what else is in it for me?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" He asked. She just raised an eyebrow.

"You're good! Ok all I want is loyalty from a good ally. Right now it is all we need." He answered. Roan believed him somehow.

"So come on then tell me!"

"Ok as you know there is three of us. Hazel is the eldest and also my twin sister. She is Number One and a slippery snake. She is not to be trusted. She wants chaos and is the complete opposite of me and my brother Liam..."

"Liam?" Roan asked. She then shook her head. "Sorry I know someone called Liam, but if it was him, he would have told me what he was." She said. Jake nodded and carried on.

"Liam is Number Three and the youngest of us. It isn't fair that he controls us when he is the least experienced, but me and Hazel share blood, which is why she isn't in charge as the eldest. Liam wants peace just like me."

"what about your parents?"

"Well my mother took off so it's just my dad now. Years ago he and his three siblings were destined to be the four. But his youngest sister was killed, so the destiny could not be completed. My dad was the only one to have offspring and he only had three, because of my mum taking off. He hasn't met anyone else and is not likely too. The fourth is out there, but they aren't related. They can't be, seeing as my other two uncles died in Hunter attacks." Jake explained. Roan finally got completely to grips with Jake's story.

"what does your farther expect of you?"

"Chaos like my sister. You would have thought she was his favourite because of this, but no. Liam is the most powerful, therefore is the favourite. Liam is everything my dad doesn't want and still he treats him like royalty. Me and my sister are worthless to him. He hates Hazel more because she is a girl and apparently she is useless because of her gender." He said.

"What? We are in the twenty first century! Girls can do anything boys can!" she said.

"I know, but he is old, only in age and sees things in the old way."

"What do you mean by only in age?"

"I mean he still looks in his mid thirties even though he is about three hundred years old. Don't forget that we are immortal."

"I'll never forget." She said shuddering.

"By eight we will be there." Jake said looking at the signs around. "The thing is Roan, I can't take them to where I live, so we are going to have to deal with them beforehand."
