Chapter 48
Evening was dawning on that Sunday night and the vans were being loaded. Liam and Jake were sorting out the Hunter's and Roan and Lewis were sorting out the Breathing Spirits. Roan was giving them a talk through.
"I have a few rules." She said.
"What?" They asked in a bustle.
"No devouring the Human's." She said. There were some moans from them all.
"Come on guys!" She said feeling a little disappointed.
"Ok no devouring anything else?" Alex asked.
"Yes, no hurting the Hunter's in anyway, they are on our side." She said.
"Ok enough about the Hunter's already!" Amanda said.
"All right just getting that across! Look use your powers rather then weapons, the less that die the better." Roan said.
"One more thing." Lewis said. "Leave Hazel and Darren to us."
Roan nodded.
"Do not try and kill them we need them alive, especially Hazel." She said. There were some murmurs and Jake came in.
"Ready?" He asked. Roan nodded.
"Ready as we'll ever be."
"Ok then lets get going." Jake said.
All the Breathing Spirits got to the school first and immediately changed into their animals. Drew got onto Roan glossy, black back as a Chameleon and disguised himself against her fur. Green eyes moved across the playground, quietly as they could. Jake had flown as the Red Kite and Alex had followed as the black raven. Their wings flapped in sync as they flew to the roof. They changed back into their human form and sat on the roof watching. Hazel and Darren were stood in front of a large group of people. The boys watched and no one noticed they were there. They waited about five minutes and the vans started to arrive. Darren and Hazel looked over to the building and heard them arriving. They knew.
"GO." Alex hissed down to the animals and they watched them all move round the building and onto the grass. Hazel and Darren watched them approach and they all laughed. Liam growled and those who could joined him. Some of Hazel's team changed too into the fiercer animals and none of them were the same. Drew crawled off Roan's back and he changed into his human form.
"You don't want to do this Hazel." He said.
"Why not Drew, you can't tell me what to do." She said. A Red Kite then swooped down and then Jake was stood next to her.
"Come on Hazel, you know this is wrong." He said. She rolled her eyes.
"Pathetic." She said. Some more Breathing Spirits changed into the human form as the Hunter's began running towards them.
"Don't just stand there, attack!" Darren shouted. Growls and hisses came from behind him and they began running forward. Liam and Roan advanced towards them and their team followed. They soon came towards the opposing team and within seconds Breathing Spirits were bursting into silver dust. Blood was spilled and swords were clashing and knives were thrown. It was mayhem. Jake had flown back into the air and he and a bunch of other birds were dropping rocks onto Hazels team. As he flew across the night sky he noticed someone fleeing from the battle field. He watched her and recognised her straight away. It was the hair. Long, brown and in that ponytail. She knelt down on one knee and she grew hooves, a long tail and a mane. She wasn't a new Breathing Spirit. It was Lauren. He flew away from the battle and followed the beautiful chocolate brown horse run out of the school and head for the bottom of the hill. He kept flying and eventually she got to the top of the hill. She leapt straight over the gate and to the front door. As quick as the click of your fingers she was human again and she opened the front door, as if knowing it would be open, and walked straight inside. Jake did the exact same thing and he followed her into the training room and he knew what she was after. He ran into the training room and when he came in, Lauren and the box were already gone. Jake swore and Harold came running in having heard him..
