Chapter 22
"OK this is very simple. Liam's wallet is missing and so is my ring. You have a minute to own up whoever it was otherwise I will be searching you rooms." Everything went dead silent and Lewis counted sixty seconds and no one moved a muscle. "Ok I will go upstairs and use the FIND charm in each one of your rooms." He then disappeared out of the room as fast a lightning. They all waited in a nervous silence. Hazel tutted at her chipped nail vanish as she waited and Roan and Liam refused to make eye contact. They didn't know what was going on and right now, they weren't in the mood to speak.
Lewis went into Roan's room first. He made sure Liam's wallet was already in his pocket as he stood in the middle of the room to begin the FIND. It was very simple, you shut your eyes and you simply listen out for whatever you wish to find and when you open your eyes you can see where it is instantly. When he opened his eyes he saw nothing, so he went next door and did the same for everyone's room. He came back down stairs holding both items in his hand.
"Let's start with the wallet shall we?"
"Roan, would you care to explain why Liam's wallet was in you room."
"No, because I didn't take it. Why would I? Anyway, I was in the conservatory for hours on end so how could I have stolen it?" She asked.
"Prove that you were in the conservatory then." Lewis challenged. Darren let me out, he will clarify it. Plus he made me agree and sign to something and I will go back on it if he lies." She said.
"It is true, I did find her locked in the conservatory. I'm not sure hwy she was in there, but it was locked from the outside and she looked as if she had been in there for a good few hours." Darren said. Roan smiled.
"That's my alibi."
"But it went missing before you were locked up."
"I can also say when it would've been stolen I was in the living room doing some English work. Darren again saw me and can prove that."
"I did see her."
"Sorry Lewis I'm afraid your theory on trying to frame me failed this time. Face it, you are going to need to do better then that."
Lewis scowled at her and Liam stood up.
"Why would you even do that?" He shouted and his dad.
"Because I am sick of you being distracted all the time."
"Well next time just tell me that rather then trying to sort it your way, because lets face it, your ways suck." Liam said.
"I also found the ring in Jake's room."
"I didn't steal it."
"No he didn't." Hazel said.
"And why is that?"
"Because I did." She said. Everyone turned and looked at her. "I wanted to be found out, so why did you say it was in Jake's room?"
"Well that's where I found it."
"Stop trying to stick up for me, I took it." Jake said.
"You can't both have taken it."
"We both had part of the bargain. Hazel stole it, I put it somewhere safe. It was working until you noticed." Jake spat. Liam rolled his eyes, his family was turning to crime. This wasn't brilliant.
"You're both grounded." Lewis said. The twins just scowled, but they didn't care. They were used to it.
"Come on Roan, lets go." Liam said to her. She nodded and took his hand.
