Chapter 35

Monday morning came and Liam never thought it would. He had had another encounter with Roan almost getting him killed by telepathy. She denied it, but he didn't believe her. This only made her more angry and the pair of them weren't speaking. It had been the longest weekend of their lives. Roan and Hazel went to school together and Jake and Liam went together. It saved arguments. Roan went to her first lesson and thanked the heavens that Liam wasn't in it.

"How are you and Liam then?" Faye asked.

"Worse." She said.

"Is he back today?"

Roan nodded.

"He shouldn't be."

"Why is he still ill?"

"No I should've killed him." She spat leaning back on her chair and shutting her eyes for a couple of seconds.

"Oh Roan you know what boys are like!" She said. Roan just looked at Faye with a blank expression.

"They don't understand girls."

"No Liam understands all right." She muttered.

"Huh?"

"Nothing. Look just drop it, I really don't want to talk about it right now."

Faye raised her eyebrows and clamped her mouth shut. Roan really wasn't in the mood. Whatever Liam had done, she was going to get it out of him, if it killed her and she was going to get Tom to help her.

At break Roan went to the 6th form common room and sat down next to Faye. When Liam came in she stood up.

"I'm going to the library, wanna come Faye?" She asked suddenly.

"Sorry I need to have a word with Tom about something. I might come and join you." Faye said. Roan nodded and went passed Liam. He slanted his body, so she wouldn't bump into him and then he grabbed her wrist. Roan reacted quickly to it.

"Ow!" He drew his hand back as smoke rose from his burning hand.

"Oops sorry. You shouldn't grab what you cant have." Roan said and she went back outside and into the main building.

"What happened then?" Tom asked.

"She knocked me." Liam lied, as clearly she had turned her body temperature right up so it was unbearable to touch, just as he had clamped her wrist.

"Baby." Faye said. "Now what is going on between you two? Roan is really upset about something. She said while you were ill something went on and she won't except an apology from you." Faye said.

"Ignore her, she's just...I don't blame her really, but I wish she would give me a chance to explain myself. I don't like it when she doesn't speak to me, it's wrong." Liam said.

"Well maybe you should've thought about that, before you did what you did. Which was?"

"It really isn't worth explaining."

"That's what she said."

"Well she was right." Liam said getting up.

"Now where are you going?" Faye asked.

"I have a free lesson next, so I'm going to go home. See you later. Tell Roan where I am if...you know."

"Will do." Tom said. Liam nodded before heading out of the door.

"This is not good." Faye said.

"Nope. It's killing him and it's upsetting her. They'll come round." Tom said. "Well hopefully." He added.
