Chapter 15: Weird Hangouts
It turns out I went a bit of grocery shopping without Chloe, picking up mostly food for our movie night. I started to think Chloe set this up as well. We seriously needed to have a talk about all of this later.
I wasn’t going to just be set up with Louis. Sure, we grew closer as friends, and that wasn’t because of Chloe. I wasn’t going to let her put this entire thing in sync, she can’t think I’m a complete idiot. At least she was visiting her mum again and not in the building.
All day I planned for this. Okay maybe not all day. I got a bunch of snacks and sodas, not exactly sure of how much they plan on eating. I rented a few movies, a couple for my liking and others they might enjoy. It was going to be fine, it was going to be fun. I repeated that to myself as I looked in the mirror. I didn’t really dress up for this. I slipped on a blue jumper over a black camisole and wore some nice looking yoga pants that tucked under my feet. To jazz it up a little, I put on a couple simple bracelets and my watch, then a plain silver necklace my mum gave me when I graduated.
When I took my braid out, my hair fell over my shoulders in little loose waves. I didn’t feel like putting makeup on tonight, but I added just a dash of eyeliner. It was nice but comfy looking, just the look I was going for. It’s just a night with the boys, that’s all it is. I can do it, I can be relaxed and have fun. This wasn’t something I’ve ever really done before, but I can handle it. I put on a little lip gloss before I headed out of my room and went right to my kitchen, then leaned my head on my shoulder, waiting for a knock on the door or anything.
I was right about to start thinking they wouldn’t be coming, but there it was, a couple knocks on the door. It made me wonder how they got in here without the paps or fans gaining up on them. I practically ran over to the door, then calmed myself down before opening it. I’m good, relaxed, cozy, and fun. I can totally do this.
I opened up the door and there they were, standing with goofy grins on their faces. Louis was right in front and beamed once he saw me.
“Hi Lola!!” he says excitedly. I smile back at him still holding my door open.
“Hey Louis, I see you brought your mates,” He kind of gazes at me for a second but then shakes his head.
“Right, sorry, well you know Harry and Niall,” they both wave. I look over at Liam and Zayn. He gestures towards them.
“And I’m supposing you’ve heard of Liam and Zayn?” he questions. I nod.
“Hi guys,” I do a little wave. They nod at me.
“Great to meet you love,” Liam says. I nod at them, then clasp my hands together.
“Okay, so it’s your guys vote on the movie, I got the crisps and sodas out on the counter, so make yourself comfortable,” I was trying to keep this as less awkward as possible.
“Awesome,” Louis says, then looks back at the boys. “Lola and I shall take a glance at her movie collection, you guys go get the snacks,” they nod and go off to the kitchen. Already was I totally comfortable with them in my flat. After I closed the door behind us Louis took my hand and led me over to the living room. I was a little hesitant at the gesture, but I went along with it. All I could do was look at his hand that held mine. We sat down by my shelf of DVDs and he let go of my hand. He stared intently at my collection, muttering a few words as he read them to himself.
“You have Anchorman?” he asks excitedly, turning to me. I nod.
“Yeah, it’s a big favorite, I had to get it,” he smiles then looks above me.
