Chapter 8: Operation Hang Out

Did I dwell over my last conversation with Pat from a couple days ago? No, not one bit, because I didn’t care what he said about Louis.  Even if he did tell me to stay away from him, because I wasn't going to.

I was completely intrigued by these guys now, they had awesome voices and were just so fun! Yeah that’s all I’m saying about that, because I’m not obsessed. And I never will be. Then that just makes things between Louis and me ten times more creepy.

This was probably the longest time of Louis not coming to talk to me, maybe he finally accepted he was done with apologizing and is now leaving me alone. Or maybe he’s coming up with a way for me not to think so badly about myself. Great. That’s probably the last thing I need right now.

I was actually pretty proud of not obsessing over them, I hung out more with Chloe and Pat, without them coming up in any of our conversations. We met up to get coffee or in Chloe’s case tea, go shopping, or just do more homework together. Although I wasn’t getting much sleep as usual anymore, not because of them, I just went to bed later because of homework.

So today, I was actually early to school, so I decided to tread upstairs to the library. No doubt would Chloe or Pat be there, one of them at least.

I loved our school library, always loud and full of videos, music, and of course, books. In the mornings it was always free time there, perhaps suggest a Youtube video to play or finish up your homework. It was especially nice when you get there early because hardly anyone was there. Except for Chloe.

When I walked through the doors, I immediately saw Chloe, standing by a bookshelf, quietly reading some sort of book I’ve never heard of. Typical Chloe.

I smile and walk right over, snatching the book right out of her hands. She doesn’t even realize it was me who took it.

“What the hell? Give it back-Oh, hey Lola!” I have to laugh at her; it’s sad that this does happen to her from other kids, especially guys, but she can usually get her book back in under five seconds. She’s scary like that.

“Hey Chloe, why here so early?” I ask. She shrugs and snatches the book back.

“Catch up on my reading,” she says gesturing to her book. “How about you?”

“Ehh, just got here early for no apparent reason, another boring day yeah?” she nods then closes her book, placing it in her backpack sitting at her feet. She looks up at me and sighs.

“What?” I ask. She laughs and shakes her head with a smile.

“Things have actually gone back to normal,” she states.

“Yeah, I know, it sucks,” she laughs again.

“Maybe, you know, he’ll come back one day,” she trails off looking at me with a weird expression.

“You can talk about them you know, I’m not quite infected,” I joke. Her face immediately lights up.

“Okay then, so apparently they’ll be staying in this area for quite a while, which is so cool! You should try to get together with Louis and then meet them all,”

“I’m not going to take advantage of them you know, just because they’re famous. But I do admit meeting them would be awesome,” her face brightens even more.

“One day soon, I can almost feel it. Even with our ordinary days here, you never know what could happen,”

And that one extraordinary day came, only a couple days later. Did it have anything to do with Louis you may ask? Well yeah, he invited Chloe and me to hang out. I did hesitate a bit in answering, but why not. I wanted to get closer to him, friend-closer I mean.
