Chapter 52:
Since the day of my birthday, I’ve had a much more hectic life than I used to have. And it’s only been two days.
The day after Louis and I ran six miles, I felt completely exhausted and worn out. Right when I got back to my flat, I literally collapsed down on my bed and fell asleep, not waking up until the next day. That’s what running six miles does to you.
Oh but that’s not the best part.
Chloe came quite early the next day, so I supposed that Louis was giving me a break from our training for the mud run. Him and the boys must be back to working on another upcoming album. I’m glad that he finally healed up and was back to doing what he loved. Let me just say that I was very grateful that he did work, because if he didn’t he’d make me run even more. And if I ran anymore I’d probably puke.
“Come on Lola, we have to get started,” She says, tugging my arm to get me out of bed. I groan, since I was very tired of getting dragged out of bed when all I wanted was a decent amount of sleep. Now since I’m actually doing this X Factor thing, that won’t be happening for a while.
“Why,” I whine. “Why must you do this to me?”
“Because we only have two months to prepare you for your audition in front of the producers for the X Factor. So get up,” She orders me. Gosh she was bossy at this early in the morning.
“No,” I complain again, opening my eyes to watch her stand back up and put her hands on her hips.
“What are you going to do when you have to go audition? You have to get up extra early for that,”
“I’ll probably just sleep it off, now go away,” I groan, pulling the covers up over my head. She immediately pulls them back, revealing me to the bright light cascading through the windows. This isn’t the first time that she’s done this either, so I’m pretty sure she opened my curtains and got me up early just to annoy me, not for the sake of some early-morning singing.
“Nope, we’ve got work to do so I’m telling you for the last time to just get up and get dressed so we can get started,” I peek my head out from under the covers.
“What exactly are we getting started on?” I ask. She smiles.
“Broadening your music horizons, so get going,”

One lazy outfit and two cups of coffee later, I sat in my chair in the living room as Chloe sat across from me on the couch and browsed through songs on her computer. I thought I could just go through singing the different parts of Bohemian Rhapsody for the entire show, but apparently I’m not allowed to do that. I must have a variety and at least two songs.
“So, I’ve been looking up all you need to do to actually audition in front of the judges and this is what I’ve found,” Chloe begins.
“We can go to an open audition in two months, which is probably your best option, and we can actually do it right here in London. You’ll wait to audition in front of the producers, then the senior producers, then you have to wait about a week or so till you find out whether you get to audition in front of the judges,” This is already sounded complicated. Audition, audition, audition. Sing, sing, sing. Wait, wait, and even more waiting.
“So why is this required of me to get up at 6 in the morning?” I ask, trying to take in the earlier information in and make sense of it.
“Because we need to warm up your vocal chords and find some more songs for you to do in case you make it farther in the show,”
