Chapter 2- Alyssa

Alyssa's P.O.V.

"Hey Rebecca! Come on you little twat!" I yell across the now half empty chorus room earning a few very confused looks from the others in the room.

"Coming!" Rebecca yelled back as she stampeded over to me.

"You run like an elephant." I tell her as she reaches me and we both start laughing uncontrollably.

"Go to class girls." our new chorus teacher says without even looking at us. Great. It's the first day and she is already 100% done with us. I guess it was bound to happen sometime.

We started walking out the door and to our next class.

After school I met the rest of the crew in the front of the building to wait to be picked up, because as little freshman we can't drive.

"So I was scrolling through my feed and I saw this thing," I hear as I walk up to Rebecca telling the rest a story, "and," laughs, "it was," more laughing, "VCR," uncontrollable laughter from Rebecca. The rest of them were just kind of staring at her like she had grown two heads.

"What is she talking about now?" I ask as I reach them.

"I'm not quite sure.." says Claire as Rebecca continues to laugh as she rolls around on the ground in front of our new high school.

"Right..." I start still confused about what I just walked into, "Well I have to go. I will see you sluts tomorrow! BYEEEEEE." They all said bye and then turned back to Rebecca still laughing on the ground. If this is a preview of what high school is going to be like for me, I am scared for not only my sanity but my teachers and everyone else around us too.

The next day in 2nd period we had P.E. instead of chorus, but since it was the first day, all we did was sit and talk.

"Have you seen that youtube video of that guy singing 4 different parts? OMG I melted! He was so hot and his voice was like an angel's!" Claire rants.

"Yes! I love that video!" yells Haily being, as always, over-enthusiastic, but we love her. We all agree and begin to sing the song. We had at least one person for every voice part in our little group, and although we didn't really know all the words, our harmonies were spot on.

"That was great! Oh we should do more!" says Vivian like a little prissy princess. Someone please give that girl a tiara! "We could form a group! We could call ourselves the Apocalypsticks!" Everyone had stopped listening as Vivian rambled on about creating a group and different names we could have. Nobody was really buying into all her talk.

"Right guys?" What?

"Umm yeah." I respond with no idea what I was agreeing to.

"See Alyssa thinks it's a good idea!" she announces. My eyes go wide with shock.

"What is a good idea?" Vivian's proud face turns sour with a frown. "I'm sorry Viv I wasn't listening."

"So you just agreed!?" she pouts.

"Yeah?" I say cautiously.

"Whatever. I thought it was a good idea. We sounded sooo good. I can't wait to talk to our chorus teacher about this. She would help us right?" We all nodded out heads agreeing still without listening to a word she said.

As I thought about it later in 4th period, Vivian didn't seem too crazy. I quickly scribbled some words to that effect on a piece of paper and passed it to Haily who was sitting right in front of me.

None of us said she was crazy, but really? A girl group? There aren't that many of those. It is the 21st century. It's all about the boy bands in entertainment. Do you seriously think that we even have a chance? she wrote back.

I'm not saying that it is necessarily possible, but think about it. Wouldn't it be cool to perform? For real? Not sing in a choir in a small town, but sell out stadiums. Travel around the world and sing. I wrote and passed it back.

I saw her start to daydream after reading it. She never passed the note back but it wasn't because she was paying attention to the teacher. I could tell my questions had put her into her own little world of fantasy telling me it sounded as good to her as it did to me, even if it was a little out of

reach.
