"Good luck, Hee-Young," I thought to myself.
I turned around and put on a smile. It barely held up and my smile dropped when I saw what was happening. My grandmother stood in front of my room door.
"AH! Halmeoni! D-don't bring them to my room! I-it's- Oh no..." I called out to my grandmother.
She opened my room door then closed it quickly. She was teasing me. My grandmother really like joking around. She flashed a smile to me and I heaved a sigh of relief, patting my chest. My room was a mess.
She led the two boys to another room that had been vacant for some time. It was the room my parents shared whenever they came to visit me and grandma.
"You can sleep here for the night. I'll bring over some fresh blankets for you," my grandmother informed them.
I offered to bring the blankets instead. Jun was about to say something but I shot a glare at him that I could manage. He closed his mouth and nodded his head. I ran off and went to fetch the blankets.
"I feel so shaky today. Ah... What if- WHAT IF THEY SEE SOMETHING EMBARRASSING? OR WHAT IF MY PARENTS HAVE A SURPRISE VISIT TOMORROW AND THEY'RE STILL HERE? Oh no no. I hope nothing bad happens- Oh there they are," I mentally screamed.
I grabbed the blankets and headed back. I placed them on the bed. My grandmother made sure they were fine before leaving. She left me alone with them in awkward silence. I looked down and remembered the number scribbled on my arm.
I pushed my sleeve up and whipped out my phone. I saved the number and dropped a short text.
"Who is this guy anyway? Is he just a classmate of yours?" Minghao spoke up.
I looked at him and blanked out. Who was he to me? I had to remember my high school life and search my memories for him.
"Oh! He was my classmate for 3 consecutive years and we sat next to each other one of those years. So, yeah you can say he's just a classmate. He's a really nice guy, though. It's just sad how things happened and he changed into someone like that. It was unexpected," I replied with a shrug.
My phone beeped. It was a text message from Minhyuk. He confirmed that I got the right number and told me to get some rest. I looked up to see them staring at me. I froze up. Did I do something?
They turned their heads and looked somewhere else.
"Umm... I think you guys should get some sleep. I-I'll just head to my room and sleep and stuff. Bye," I excused myself.
Before I could close the door, Jun called out to me and I opened the door again.
"No good-night?" he smirked.
"Good night! Don't let the bed bugs bite! You guys can tuck yourselves in. You're teenagers for god's sake. Good night, love y- uh- SLEEP TIGHT!" I said to them, screwing up eventually.
Out of all things, I almost mentioned love. What am I doing?
"Good night, Hee-Young! Rest well!" China line replied in sync.
I nodded and closed the door. Just as I was about to step away, Jun shouted from the other side.
"I love you too! Good night!" he shouted.
Right after that, I heard a short silence before some squabbling. My cheeks turned red as I turned to make my way to my room. I closed the door and stared at my room. It was a mess.
Somehow, a pile of clothes were stacked in the corner and a few articles strung on the floor together with a few pieces of paper. I could barely see my table. Books and other random items cluttered it. I was tired these days that I did not bother to clean my room. If not now, then when?
