My eyes flew open. I saw a room similar to a hospital ward. It was a private ward. I saw one of my legs in a cast and hung up. My dominant arm felt numb. I looked down to see it was in a cast. I believed my chest/ neck area and my head was in a bandage.

"Hee-young! Thank god, you woke up! My grandchild, I was so scared. You were out for about 3 days. I was extremely worried," my grandmother cried out.

She gently hugged me so as to not cause any pressure or harm to my injured body. She cried. Her eyes were puffy so I guessed that was all she had been doing the past few days. I was confused, however.

"Grandma... How did I get here? What happened?" I asked my grandmother.

"You got in an accident 3 nights ago. The doctor said you suffered several fractures on your leg and arm. Don't focus on that. What matters now is that you are alive," she updated me, forcing a smile.

"An accident? How?" I asked further.

"Y-you don't remember anything?" my grandmother asked, slowly growing terrified.

Her face was painted with more worry. I honestly had no idea of what got me here.

"I know my name and all but I don't remember the day of the incident," I told her.

She started asking me questions about my life and I got them right. She was worried I had lost my memory. Not long later, the doctor entered to check on me and he was relieved that I gained consciousness. He explained the accident.

According to him, I was hit by a big truck while crossing the road and I was thrown a few metres down the road, causing my injuries. Since my body was rather fragile, I faced a bigger impact and I would take longer to recover. I looked down at my dominant arm and sighed. I would be having lots of trouble from now till I recover. He did some checks on me before excusing himself.

My grandmother looked at me and told me what I was doing that night.

"That afternoon, you went to set up for an event for the group you are working for. Then you came home and went out again for your date with Minhyuk. I did not know how it turned out but hours later, I got a call from the hospital about you," she told me.

She informed me that only she alone had been in the room the whole time. No one else had come. Even when she came after receiving the call, no one else was in sight. Not even Minhyuk. Unfortunately, my phone had been spoiled in the accident and my grandmother had only managed to send it for repair yesterday. She also had no contacts of the people I knew. Therefore, she was unable to tell anyone else about my hospitalisation.

As she talked to me, I tried to think of how I ended up in an accident. If I was on a date when it supposedly happened, why was Minhyuk not here? He would have known about this if he was there with me when the accident occurred. Did it go wrong?

I borrowed my grandmother's phone. I did not remember any numbers but I guess I could inform Sunhee of my absence from work through an email. She checks it almost every day. I sent a short e-mail which took a long time due to my working hand being my non-dominant one. Right when I was done, I handed the phone back to my grandmother. My phone would only be repaired in 2 days. Since she was not sure how long I would be asleep, she did not rush the shopkeeper.

She sat by my side and accompanied me in the silent room. I was quite devastated that I would have to live months immobile in a wheelchair or in bed due to my injuries. After my lunch, my grandmother hesitantly left and I fell asleep soon after.

?? POV

I watched as Hee-young's grandmother left the ward. I felt guilty somehow. I was reluctant to see Hee-Young. Nonetheless, I had to know her condition. We may not be as close anymore but my heart told me to go see her. I clutched the bouquet of flowers in my hand. I tiptoed to the room and slowly opened the door. I peeped in to see her dozing off.  An empty plate on a tray laid on the table at the end od her bed. She probably went back to sleep after lunch.

To my horror, she did not seem very comfortable. Her leg and arm were in a cast and her head had a bandage that wrapped around it. She had bandages almost everywhere. The accident must have been that bad. Oh, what I would do to switch places with her so I would feel the pain instead

Since she was sleeping, I went over to the table and placed the flowers there. I turned to leave but then I heard Hee-Young stir in her sleep. She frowned. A nightmare? Perhaps trauma from the accident.

I quickly pulled up a chair and held her hand that was not bandaged. I realised that the hand I held was not the hand she used to write. My eyes widened as they lingered on her right arm that was in a cast. No. Not her right arm. How would she do even the simplest daily tasks? I squeezed her left hand and put my other hand on it. I held it near my face. Upon contact, she started to calm down. Her hand squeezed mine back and a smile etched on her face. I could not help but smile back. It had been some time. I started to tear up at how much I missed her.

"Hee-Young ah, I have to admit I miss you. I pushed all these feelings away. I ignored you and this tragic accident happened to you. I wish I could be there at the time of your accident. Perhaps I could have saved you. I hope you recover soon. I want to see you again. You don't know it, but I still do sneak glances at you. You don't realise it, but I hold all my feelings back and hide them. I hope you forgive me. I don't want to make you go through hell. Please recover. I-I... I love you ok bye," I kissed her hand and quickly left in embarrassment.

I left the room and quickly ran the other direction when I saw familiar figures turning around the corner at the end of the hallway. No way could I let them see me.

Hee-young's POV

I awoke again to the loud chatter of people. I spotted familiar faces in the room. I barely had time to register the current situation properly because Ji-hae lunged at me upon seeing my eye open. She rambled on about how worried she was and such. She pinched my cheeks.

"How is she still so cute even when she's injured?!" squealed Ji-hae.

Jessie pulled her away so that the stylists present, Sun-hee, Crystal and herself, could speak to me. They wished me a speedy recovery individually. Jessie then spoke up. She held out a bouquet of bright daisies.

"Oh yeah, we brought flowers for you but it seems you've already gotten flowers..." Jessie shifted her gaze to the bedside table.

I followed her gaze and my eyes landed on a bouquet of white and pink daisies on the table by my bed. I was puzzled. I had never seen them there. I was sure. I reached out to the flowers but was stopped by one of them as I was "straining myself". I sat back on the bed.

Perhaps I could check it out later. The card attached to the letter to be more specific.

It seemed rather important.
