Barry danced with Caitlin, she'd insisted as soon as the slow song came on. He knew she loved dancing with him even though she was bad at it, he kept his arm curled around her waist, watching with what you could call—heart eyes.
It still amazed him, even now, that he was with someone like Caitlin. She was someone so innocent, yet she had some hidden darkness in her and Barry was fine with that, in fact he loved it because he did too. She came off as a casual everyday scientist but to him she was one of a kind, because there was only one Caitlin Snow in this earth. And he was lucky that she'd taken a chance with him, lucky that she loved him as much as he loved her. They swayed in tune to the soft music, the violins playing softly in the background. Now Barry had never been a fan of the violin, mostly because he hated the screechy noise it made, and the way people played it seemed to make him think of chalk on a blackboard, but right now he was content and happy to listen to it whilst focusing on Caitlin. She leaned forward planting a kiss on his cheek, making his eyebrows furrow."What was that for?" He asked, focusing on the auburn brunette before him as her cheeks blushed, her arms still wrapped around his neck, she shrugged.
"For being here, with me, dancing to violins which I know you hate."
"How did you know I hate violins?" Barry asked curiously, lolling his head to a side, waiting for an answer. Caitlin let out a light giggle.
"Because I know you by now, Barry, I thought you'd know that." Caitlin shook her head with a smile, making a grin dance across his own face at her smile. When they say a smile could brighten a day, Barry never really believed that expression but when Caitlin smiled, it truly did make his day.
"Ah, just like I know you hate the flute," Barry laughed, Caitlin cringed at the thought of the sound it makes, especially when someone does a wrong note, usually a G note and it practically screams. She couldn't stand it. "You know, we'd be awful guests at an orchestra."
Caitlin let out a small laugh. "I can agree with you on that one."
Caitlin looked over Barry's shoulder, noticing Cisco dancing happily with Andrea, she seemed pretty happy to be dancing with Cisco. Caitlin felt happy for Cisco, she prayed that this one wasn't a villains sister or an old Egyptian princess, hopefully she was just a human, falling for a great guy. Barry noticed Caitlin's look of interest over his shoulder and turned subtly to look, grinning proudly.
"Looks like we'll be seeing her more often." Barry smirked, Caitlin returned her focus on Barry, raising an eyebrow.
"And no doubt you'd show her your identity, you always do. Do you remember when only the original team flash knew about you, now more people know when they shouldn't." Caitlin muttered, keeping her voice down seem as there was a lot of lingering people.
Barry blushed, "Sorry, I trust people too easily. It's a horrible trait but I can't help it," Barry shrugged. "Don't worry Cait, you were still the first woman to know, your were the one whose been with me since the very beginning. Your irreplaceable."
Caitlins cheek blushed scarlett at his words. "Irreplaceable, I like that." Caitlin grinned, leaning in for a kiss her lips brushing Barry's but they spilt apart at the sound of someone clearing his throat. Barry looked pretty pissed that Andy had interrupted them. The man scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Andy."
"Sorry, I just came over to ask if I might have a chance to dance with the lady?" Andy asked, his eyes darting between Caitlin and Barry. Barry narrowed his eyes at Andy, unsure of the mans intentions but he knew he couldn't exactly say no in front of all these people so he agreed.
"Sure. Cait, I'll come and get you in a bit." Barry said, placing his hand on the small of her back gently pulling her in for a kiss before leaving Andy to dance with Caitlin, Barry grumble unhappily to himself, looking over at the two. Andy had placed his hand on Caitlins hip making Barry's jaw clench, forcing himself not to speed over there and take Caitlin out of there.
A girl had came over to Barry, looking like she was wearing a million dollar necklace but Barry shooed her off, not interested, to be honest he was surprised no criminal knew about this place, there was things worth thousands, maybe millions in here, yet there were no criminals in sight. He ignored it and returned to look at Caitlin and Andy, she was smiling at something he'd said, making Barry glare. He hated being the jealous type, he knew Caitlin wouldn't do anything to hurt him, yet he was still jealous. Cisco almost crashed into him and if it wasn't for Barry being in the way, he wouldn't ended up face first on the floor.
Barry's eyes scanned for Andrea but she'd seemed to have disappeared, he scanned Cisco and noticed the smear of lipstick on his lips and let out a laugh, clapping Cisco on the back in congratulations."You finally got a kiss, been a while, huh?" Barry chuckled, Cisco narrowed his eyes, but he soon smiled a blush rushing along his cheeks.
"Well apparently, I'm quite the gentleman, Andreas great man, she's a doctor at the local hospital, although sometimes she helps out at the other ones if its needed. She has a dog, Truffle, he's a Rottweiler, she told me he was harmless and look! Look! She gave me her number before she left to go home!" Cisco exclaimed, going in his back pocket and pulling out a torn piece of paper with a number scribbled on it.
"Well done man! Hopefully this one stays this time. She is human though right?" Barry aasked just to be sure.
"Yeah, yeah. Human as a human can be." Cisco assured him, stuffing the number back in his back pocket and sipping on the champagne. A perplexed look crossed his face. "Where's Caitlin?"
"Over there, with Andy." Barry said with distaste.
Cisco spun to look at Andy and Caitlin dancing a smirk plastered across his face. "Dude, Andy's been known to steal a guy's girl, it's best you scoop Caitlin up now. He's took Gary's ex before but he forgave him, god knows why. Maybe he didn't really love the girl but I know you love Caitlin so you'd best go get her."
Barry took Cisco's warning with no hesitation, he cut in their dance. Barry thought he saw Andy glare at him when he slipped his arm around Caitlins middle, planting kisses on her neck. Andy stopped dancing with Caitlin when she pulled away from him and rested her hands on Barry's arms. "Barry, we're in the middle of the dance floor." She muttered with a smile.
"It was a pleasure to dance with you, Dr Snow." Andy said, making Caitlin look away from Barry and look at Andy, giving him a small smile.
"It was nice to dance with you too, Andy." Caitlin nodded, before peeling Barry's arms off her and turning to be face to face with him, giving him a playful look. "Now I do believe that you were acting on jealousy."
"Well I believe I couldn't resist." Barry said his voice low and quiet, a smirk dancing across his face, he kissed Caitlins cheek, trailing his hand down her arm until their hands were entwined. "I think we're done with the party, Cisco got Andreas number and a new make over, including smeared lipstick. I think he'd have no problem if we left early."
"Fine." Caitlin gave in, letting Barry gently direct her out of the mansion building.
