Caitlin woke, her mind drifting off to the night before. Was it real? Did she and Barry really kiss? All these thoughts ran through Caitlins mind, she just prayed that it was real. Barry had gone, she couldn't remember him leaving but she had the kiss imprinted in her thoughts, how soft his lips were and the fact that he didn't pull away.
She'd gotten herself up and ready for work, gnawing on her bottom lip, wondering what would happen next. But what happened next hurt her heart, Barry acted as though nothing had happened between the two, acting normal, doing everything he'd usually do. Caitlin felt a sharp pinch of pain thinking about how he called her beautiful, now, he was just casually typing at super speed on the computer.
Caitlin sighed quietly, heading off to her lab, trying to force the kiss off her mind, but it wouldn't go away no matter how hard she tried. She pulled on her lab coat, moving her hair over her shoulder, hesitant to react to the sense that was telling her Barry had appeared but remained silent. The steps came closer, not stopping until she could feel Barry's breath against her ear, making goosebumps on her arm."Cait, did we really kiss last night? Do you...do you remember?" He whispered, knowing Cisco was close by. Caitlin nodded her head softly.
"We did" She breathed, not daring to move an inch.
"Good, I was scared you couldn't remember, or that you didn't want to kiss me"
"But I do, I mean I did" Caitlin muttered, now turning in her chair so she was face to face with him. Relief seemed to flood over his face at he words, making her smile.
"So...where do we go from here?" He asked, unsure as his eyes lowered to the floor as though he was nervous. Caitlin got up and shrugged unsure herself.
"Do you want this? I mean us?"
"I really do...I've wanted it for a while"
"So have I" He looked up as she said the words and a smirk drew across his face, his arms reaching out for her which she took happily. Wrapping herself around his torso. Afraid that if she'd say these next words he won't say them back. "I love you" She said, closing her eyes tightly. Fear creeping in.
"...I love you too, so so much" He responded, kissing the top of her head, assuring her it was true. She pulled back slightly, happiness spreading to her heart quickly as it skipped a beat, she didn't care if Cisco saw, she curled her hand around Barry's neck, pulling him into a kiss because he was to tall for hee to reach even on her tip toes. Cisco was gawking at them as he watched Caitlin pull him into a kiss, he too thought What took so long? Cisco smiled down at his work, knowing the two would most likely prefer he didn't watch them. Her heard heels and a short groan of pain, he turned and Felicity appeared holding her head. Freezing as she spotted Barry and Caitlin. She stood watching them, shocked for a few seconds, but snapped back to life and squealed happily. Forcing the two to break apart, catching their breaths but shyly looking at the ground as Felicity approached. "Hey Felicity, I thought you went home with Oliver?"
Barry scratched the back of his neck, anxiously. "Scrap that, what is this? Are you two together now?" She exclaimed, clapping her hands in excitement. Barry looked down at Caitlin as Felicity asked the question, Caitlin grinned up at him.
"I guess we are, What do you say Mr Allen? Want to take you chances?" Caitlin smiled, playfully. Barry rested his arm around her shoulder and nodded.
"I'd like that very much"
