Chapter 6: The Boys Are Back
"I'm scared!!" Jaclyn shrieked throughout the journey to Troy's house. Her arms clamped onto Ruben's chest like a leech sucking his blood.
"What on earth did Troy ride you with? A vespa?" He screamed back at her in the middle of the highway. He swing his Harley ride and left, trying to threaten her while trying to avoid other cars. Her shrieked went higher in pitch.
"He used his Porché alright?" She clamped onto him closer that he could feel her heartbeat loud and clear. Ruben wondered what Troy saw in this girl, Renata was so chill. She was scared when Ruben first brought her on the ride, but she enjoyed it. He just knew she was the one.
As soon as Ruben and Jaclyn reached Troy's huge mansion, he pressed the intercom and growled at Troy, "Yo man. Your girl is here."
The huge gate opened up and Ruben drove in with his Harley. Troy was already waiting on the front door, a smile drew on his face. "Jaclyn, baby!"
Jaclyn jumped down as soon as Ruben stopped and their PDA heavy make out session started.
"Alright, girl. I got to talk to Ben here." He pecked her for the last time. Jaclyn's expression turned sour but she moved away anyway.
"Hey man." Ruben gave Troy a hug. It's been a long time they haven't seen each other. The three of them fell into step as they walked into the mansion, towards the game room.
"How are you bro? How's your girl?" Ruben shot a nasty glance at Troy, as Jaclyn showed her interested look.
"You have a girl, Ben?" She winked.
"Sorry, Bro." Troy laughed. "Nah, babe. He's just interested in someone. Go on ahead. I got to talk business."
"But...." Jaclyn was about to cut off, when Troy shot her a nasty look. Ruben got to admit, Troy knew how to handle Jaclyn.
"I didn't know you and her still a secret." Troy looked at Ruben attentively. "Apart from she's a national-known-goody-two-shoes, she seemed cool. You liked her since we're in kindergarten, man. She's your dream girl! What's with this backstreet?"
"Shut up, Troy. It was Elementary. Not kindergarten." Ruben snapped.
"Alright, bro, but really what's this all about? Is it 'cause your bro also crushing hard on her?"
"He's not my bro, Troy. Just shut it." Ruben sounded annoyed now.
"I'm just telling you. Everyone adores her, a girl gotta feel lonely when a girl feels lonely. You get what I meant? Prom, Graduation Ceremony, Autumn Gala? I'm escorting Jaclyn here, and you know I could bring you in and make some excused to escort Rena. She'll be feeling lonely and imagine all the guys flocking on her. You don't want Nathaniel taking her away from you."
"She's not that kind of girl." Ruben assured him.
"Alright. She's not. But we never know. Don't make the same mistake twice." Troy concluded waiting for Ruben to answered. After few moments of silent, he changed the topic. "Alright the North Kids... They vandalized my Porché this morning. We know it will be a tough year this year."
"I'm playing in B-ball team." Ruben explained. "North Kids might try to beat us up that way too. Do you think we should pay them back?"
"No. You have to meet someone before we planned anything further." Troy grinned at Ruben. He opened up the white door towards the game room, "Look who's back... CJ!" Troy laughed.
"CJ? Dang! Man! How are you?" Ruben gave the man a huge hug. Ruben and Troy first met CJ when they were in grade 5. CJ was grade 11 in Rhapsody High at that time, he recruited kids from Elementary all the way to Middle school to play the behind game in Rhapsody High in the future.
Unfortunately nobody knows that North High, Rhapsody High, and Trent Coast High have been battling upfront and behind for years. Behind games including doing anything illegal as long as their school win over any competitions, and ranked as the best in the town. The kids which played the behind games were usually called the school's "gangster". Troy got expelled from Rhapsody after he got caught of messing with Trent Coast's chemical apparatus during Scholastic Decathlon.
"Haha." CJ laughed. "You kids have grown! How are you, Ben?" He smiled. "Still in love with the same girl?"
"Shut it." Ruben snapped him but not in annoyed way.
"I heard North is playing nasty now?" CJ raised an eyebrow at them.
"Yeah. They trashed my Porché this morning." Exclaimed Troy, annoyed.
"I heard you're in B-ball team this year?" CJ looked at Ruben for confirmation. "Blue told me." Drew Blue is the head of Basketball Team, secretly he is also part of the Rhapsody's gang.
"That's a good move." CJ added. "I think North is trying to bring up their behind game. A lot of fouls would be made by them during the game. Trust me. It has been their games for years."
Ruben and Troy threw glances at each other, nodding. "I'll be there during the game." Troy added. "We don't want them to trash our school. Last time the North girls hide some 'ice' in the toilet knowing there will be inspection from the ministry of education few days later. Jaclyn found them."
"Alright. When's the game?" CJ asked.
"In 2 weeks. I have to get ready."
