Brenda woke up early that Sunday morning. She stared at the ceiling trying to take in what has been going on the past night. How dreamy Nathaniel was, how fragile Renata could be, and Ruben. He turns out to be a very sensitive guy, unlike the bully she always thinks he is. What even more surprising is that Brook knows what has been going on all along! Obviously there are a lot of things to take into her little brain right now.

Brenda grabbed her phone from her side table.

5 missed call(s) from Ruben Taylor

Ruben? Is he okay? Why would he called her this many times? It is barely 8 am.

She hesitantly called him back. The sound of the line connecting gave her a goosebumps. Brenda was never a fan of phone call.

"Yeah?" Ruben husky voiced answered.

"Hey. Umm... You called me? Everything okay?"

"Oh, Bren. Yeah it's okay. I was just wondering if you are awake is all."

"I am now." Excitement fills her voice without her knowing it. What is wrong with you, brain? She gushed in in her head.

"That's good. Wanna grab a quick snack for breakfast?"

"NOW?!"

"Yeah, i can pick you up. Actually my motorbike just right in front of your house now."

Clearly her parents won't be happy about it. It's Sunday morning, she just spent a whole night going to her first party and now meeting up with a guy? But her parents love Ruben. Beside, Brook trusts Ruben more than anything. Pretty sure they'll let her go this time.

"Okay. Sure!" She sounded sure.

"Good. Let me know when you are ready." She can almost hear his smile from the phone as hang up.

Morning date, what should I wear? She thought. Oh, how could she thinks of it as a date. She pushed away the thought. Ruben is Renata's boyfriend! She would never thought of doing such a thing.

She pulled a cute pair of track-pants, a camisole and a light beige cardigan to top it off. She brushed her blonde hair softly. The straightener from last night still last on her hair. Time to go.

She walked out of her room with fear that maybe her parents won't let her go. It's just a breakfast, she'll be back in an hour or two. She braced herself.

The smell of pancake can be smelled throughout the house, her mother must be preparing breakfast. Her dad was sitting down with the TV on and newspaper in his hand.

"Hey, dad. I'm gonna go grab food. I'll be back in an hour!" She exclaimed.

Her dad put his newspaper down and gave her a strange look. "This early? Your mother is making pancake."

"Well, ummm... I'm not in the mood for pancake?" She tried to find some excuse. She's really bad at this.

Her dad still yet gave her that "i-am-not-sure-you-should-go-look".

"Well, it's Ruben. He asked me to accompany him for breakfast." She gave in finally.

"Ah." The look in her father eyes soften. "I thought i saw his motorcycle outside. He could have eaten with us."
