Chapter 26

She was beautiful. There isn't any other words Ruben can use to explain. He was planning to take Renata out to the balcony to sober up, but under the full moon, her eyes were glistening back at him and her hair was shining. He was hypnotized. His first plan to leave her in the balcony suddenly doesn't seem so necessary anymore.

The song from the hall lowered down out here and as he held her right hand, he couldn't help himself any longer. Ruben put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. He swing her slow, scared that she would be too drunk from all the dancing earlier. Daniel Bedingfield's voice suddenly rang clear in his ears.

I don't want to run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?

Ruben really doesn't want to run away, but he can't take his own feeling, loving someone completely, the thought of settling down, it's restraining him.

"Is there anyway..." Ruben suddenly felt himself singing. "that i can stay in your arms?"

He could feel his eyes looked right through her eyes.

"Ben?" Renata's eyes closing up, Ruben knew she's losing her consciousness.

He let go of her from all the dancing and as he was about to leave the balcony to find help, she dropped down onto the floor.

"Rena! Rena! Wake up! Hey! Are you okay?" He started getting annoyed at himself. "ARGH!" as Ruben about to carried her up to get out of the room, Brook walked in on them.

"I thought it was you!" Brook was catching his breath. "Everybody saw what happened to Wellington, i knew nobody could have inflicted as much pain as you can. "

"Never mind Wellington! Renata is unconscious. I'm taking her out."

"OUT WHERE, BEN?!" Brook shouted at him. "I'll call Nathaniel and Brenda, and we all will send her back home."

"Robinson?! Robinson is your way out? No. You know how much I hated him! If anybody is taking her anywhere, it's me."

"Do you know where her house is?" Brook stare into his eyes, questioning him strictly.

Ruben suddenly kept quiet. The whole entire time he was dating Renata, never for a second he though of sending her home, of getting to know her family. All he was thinking about was her finally becoming his, her becoming part of his life, her becoming part of his street adventure. Suddenly he realized he has no house to kept her safe either. He can't take her home to Benjamin's house, Benjamin would be furious nor could he take her to the Robinson house. He really didn't think, all he wanted all this while is for her to be his and not thinking about Renata's best.

Brook saw the changed in Ruben's face and patted Ruben's shoulder. "Wait here. We will fix Renata." Brook ran and Ruben found himself staring at Renata's delicate body on his arms, the golden heart lockets sparkled in front of his own eyes. As the memories between them flooded into him, he still couldn't figure out how he really feels towards her.

Not long after, Brenda, Nathaniel and Brook arrived hurriedly to the balcony. Looking at Nathaniel's face makes Ruben wants to vomit. All he wants right now is to take Renata out of this place as soon as possible. Nathaniel however stepped in and stopped him. "No, i am taking her home. You are not taking her anywhere."

"Oh how nice, Robinson." Ruben answered sarcastically. "Sure, can you take her now and i'll leave you two happily ever after."
