The recording ended. Kenji took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He wiped his eyes and forehead and he remembered the time when he killed all those people under Mr. Nakamura's orders. He was more like a slave to him than a son. He was a servant and an assassin for Mr. Nakamura. Kenji could see himself standing in a dark room, holding a knife coated in blood. He could see himself standing near a corpse of a politician he assassinated. He could see himself pulling the trigger at an innocent person who just happened to witness something he wasn't even aware about. He could see himself standing and staring at his father's corpse. He could see himself standing atop on a mountain of corpse of those who he had killed.
'My sins won't leave me. I am well aware of that but I'm not going to walk that path again. Never. The red has to disappear.'
Even if people abandon and forget something, that doesn't mean that it will stop existing. The world is full of people who behave like that. In the past and the present. In the coming future, it will be the same. One cannot abandon the past that was filled with hatred, tainted in blood. You want to run away from it, you want to forget it, you want to erase its existence but it won't leave you. Kenji very well understood it.
He was staring out in the sky, thinking how much time has passed. Even though it was still bright outside, he felt the darkness still lurking inside this place. He tucked the recorder in his pocket, got up and exited the building from the way he entered.
----------------------
Kenji stood in front of the entrance. 'It still smells like blood.' He muttered
'So you too agree on it huh Ken' Izumi said looking at Kenji's back.
Kenji didn't turn back to see him. 'This is the place then. The prison created by Adam. You know what happened' Kenji said.
'Ken...' Enna called.
'Help us Kenji' Charlotte said.
'My, my! Will you be good girls and don't talk. Unless you both want to die' Izumi look back above his shoulder. 'Let me talk to my dear brother. I have so much to talk with him.'
'Quite a monster you've become Izumi.' Kenji turned.
Looking at Izumi, he seemed a bit shorter then Kenji. His long black hair, the athletic body, his face had some resemblance as Kenji's, and his right hand was covered in bandages.
Kenji looked down at this right hand. 'So that's the monster hand of yours that you've hidden in bandages. I've realized and know what you've gone through. I don't know everything but I understand Izumi. You don't have to kill anymore. Just stop.'
'Dear Ken, you're still the same. Caring for others is all you can do' Izumi looked at Enna and then back at Kenji. 'You already said that I've become a monster then why stop being one. Being a monster is no different from being a human. And for this hand, not everyone gets to see it. It's special you know.' Izumi brushed his right hand.
'You're right! Humans are monsters, I've seen those monsters and I'm one of them. Can I ask you something Izumi?'
Izumi nodded. 'Of course you can.'
'The old man you killed - was his full name Michael Myers?' Kenji asked.
'If I remember it correctly then, yes. That was his name! But how come you asking me about him now?' Izumi asked. 'Unless you didn't know about him before.'
'I didn't know his full name. But now I do' Kenji took out the recorder and showed it to Izumi.
'What about Michael, Kenji?' Charlotte asked.
