Chapter 15 - Silent Night

Deep down in Kenji's memories, those nightmares still scream; reminding him of days gone by filled with joy and sadness. He tried to forget them but-

'What are you afraid of Ken? Did you have a bad dream?'

'Yes mama. It was a really bad one. There was a monster chasing Izumi and me. We were running and running and running but the monster was behind us. I promised Izumi that I'll come back for him so run as far as you can and don't look back. But he looked back and saw that I wasn't there.'

'Don't say things like that Ken. It's just a dream. The morning will wash away the bad dream and you can have your favorite breakfast with Izumi'

'Yes mama'

'Good boy. I'll be beside you so don't be scared anymore. Okay Ken?'

Everyone followed Izumi to a certain distance and came to a stop. Everyone looked back, panting.

'I think we left it behind' Izumi said, heavily breathing.

'Looks like it' Chloe huffed.

'I TOLD YOU TO NOT BE A FUCKING ASS AND APPROACH IT. THAT WASN'T A KID' Izumi yelled. 'Fuckin' brats. It's your fault that Allen died. That monster is playing with you' he gulped.

'So why didn't you help him' Desmond stated. 'You're a monster yourself. With the so called altered arm of yours, you could've saved that boy. So why didn't you do that?' Desmond approached Izumi.

'That's none of my concern. I warned you but he acted on his on will. I'm not here to wipe everyone's ass. I'm here for my own reason's' Izumi asserted.

'What if it was Kenji? Would you had abandoned him too?' Desmond questioned.

'None of my concern. You act on your own will and die on your own. If you want to live then follow what I say. And still, if you end up getting caught in trouble then deal with it yourself' Izumi said angrily.

'So what now?' Kenji asked.

'Well, I know a place we can rest through the night. Come' Izumi said pointing forward. He stopped, looked back and sighed 'Do I have to hold your hands now?! Trust me or not, you don't have any other choice. This way. C'mon.' He started walking, 'and oh, stick together, hold hands, do anything but don't get separated' he added.

'Tch' Max spat.

'Everyone's scared and sad about Allen but this isn't the time to think about it. There are times when we have to trust a monster to survive from another. Izumi, without a doubt is a monster, he might kill us too. I don't understand what's he's thinking but this is all for the best for now. So Max, don't end up dead. I won't be able to face Chloe then' Desmond said.

'Desmond... Yeah...' Max smiled and walked besides Chloe.

She held his hand tightly, trembling. Max didn't let go and held her close. They walked alongside with Desmond and Logan. The only thing that held them together was fear. What they saw back couldn't be undone. Charlotte blocked Enna's vision to not let her see it.

'That feeling again! What's happening to me? That Red again' Kenji thought as he walked slower than others. 'Damnit' he uttered.

'Get over here Ken' Izumi called him. 'Is something bothering you?' he asked with a little concerned look on his face.

'Do you feel anything strange when you see blood?' Kenji asked him, expecting for an answer.

'As a human, I never would had said this but as a monster that I am now, Yes, I would do the same thing that that Juggernaut did there. The urge to do it, can't be explained' he scoffed.
