They were still away from their destination and Charlotte's health was deteriorating further. After last night, they've been running away from the approaching danger. After giving birth to Amy, the stress and the pain was building up inside. She was putting up with everyone, ignoring but it was obvious that she was in a lot of pain.
There was still no sign of Juggernaut nor the other thing with him. They took breaks to rest. Kenji decided to carry Charlotte even after she told him not to worry about her. Kenji on the other hand was worried for everyone. Eric was walking beside Kenji and talking to Charlotte at certain moments. That helped Charlotte's body to rest but it would take days for her to recover completely. She just had to endure it for the time being.
It took them an hour to reach Area-D.
'You okay there Enna?' Kenji asked. She nodded a yes. 'I can tell Izumi to give you a piggy back ride if you want.'
Enna chuckled, 'I don't mind.'
Izumi looked at Enna and gave a no way look and she chuckled again.
It took them another 15 minutes to reach near the landing pad. They noticed that both the choppers were there and the annihilators standing around them. They hid behind the bushes and observed their movements. There were 12 armed annihilators on guard. After a while, they separated in 4 groups of 3.
As soon as they dispersed, Kenji and Izumi moved towards the choppers. Eric and Charlotte followed them. 'It's weird that no one is at guard here' Kenji thought. He looked at the other side where the annihilators left. He noticed the bushes moving, slightly.
'It's a trap' Kenji said and looked around.
'What?!' Izumi stood still and was on guard.
'As expected of Sir Kenji' a voice approached. He was one of the annihilators who came out of the covers followed by others walking behind him. 'But you realized it too late.'
'How did you know that we were here, Mark?' Eric asked. 'And what's with all the "annihilators" thing that I heard from Izumi? Weren't you my mom's driver?' he questioned.
'Master Eric, It's good to see you alive' Mark smiled. It wasn't a smile of a driver, but of someone who had done bad things and is about to do it again. 'And for your question, we scouted the area before landing and spotted you around the lighthouse. There were others too near Area-B. We expected to see them too but unfortunately they are not here' he sighed is disappointment. He motioned a bit and stopped at a certain distance. 'Oh and we saw another helicopter, south of this island. If I remember correctly, it was beautifully painted in blood' he took a deep breath, 'oh that sweet smell of blood' he smiled. 'Also, I was Lady Elina's bodyguard. It's just that Master Adam didn't bother to explain things to that little brain of yours. I was always an annihilator' he shrugged. 'I hope that clears up the questions you asked.'
'So Kenji and Izumi were telling the truth' he clenched his fist.
'Well it finally got into that little brain of yours' Izumi sighed. 'Stupid brat.'
'But, we are here to retrieve you Master Eric. It seems Lady Elina is really worried that you ended up here and Master Adam ordered us to come and get you home' he explained. 'If you'll pardon us, we'll like to take Master Eric with us and then kill you, Izumi.'
'You think you can?' Izumi raised his eyebrow. He was mocking them.
'Oh, yes we can' Mark replied. Izumi very well understood the situation they were in. 12 armed, professional killers versus a half human half monster.
