 Chapter 6

Connect the dots

"Oh. Sorry if that surprised you!" the girl apologized hastily when none of us responded.

The guys shuffled uncomfortably, their eyes trailing to the floor. I coughed and bit my lip.

"Um, you might want to put on some clothes," Jade mumbled.

The girl's jaw dropped and she turned away blushing so hard that the color of her face matched the blood. My eyes led me to a small mark on her left shoulder blade. Was that a tattoo of a crescent moon? Meanwhile, her white hair shone despite being stained crimson.

"I-I don't have any clothes right now..." she stammered.

Jade turned to me, "Do you still have enough magic energy for clothes?"

I nodded and imagined a simple black dress. It fluttered into my hands and I handed over to the the white wolf girl.

"Thanks, Fire eyes," she beamed, pulling the dress over her head.

My hands flew to my eyes subconsciously. I wondered why she wasn't surprised. Maybe other people she knew had weird eye colors too. I mean, I had never heard of people who could shapeshift into animals, so at this point anything seemed plausible!

"Is it over now?" Lyell asked, taking his hands that were shielding his eyes away.

"But what about the blood?" Cyrix frowned, "Is there anything we can do about it?"

"Maybe I can do something about it?" Tear whispered, raising her hand.

She stood immobile, her face looking tranquil. No one moved and all that you could hear was the soft breathing from Tear. It has easy to tell that she was concentrating so hard that she had blocked out the world.

"Here," she smiled, as water accumulated in front of her in the shape of a cube.

I gazed in fascination. The cube was in a perfect shape but the water within continued to move without breaking its shape. Tear's control over her element was very fierce and firm.

"I knew you were mages!" the girl grinned, dipping her arms into the cube confidently.

She rubbed her face, turning the water a deep red. Then she moved onto her hair, dropping handfuls atop her head. She shook her head to dry her hair.

"Thanks," she smiled.

"No problem." Tear returned the smile and let the cube of water seep into the earth beneath us.

"So, what were you doing out here?" Palo questioned, stiffly, "Did you intend for us to help you?"

The girl rolled her eyes, "No need to be so on guard, old man. You haven't even asked my name yet."

"And what about you?" Palo shot back, "Why should you act so highly? Who are you, some kind of nobility?"

"I'm definitely more important than you, that for sure!" she spat.

"Oh really, squirt?" Palo yelled.

"Um, she's actually a royal," Tear quivered.

The two paused their argument to listen to Tear's hushed voice. I sighed in relief, thankful that a fight had not broken out.

"She has a mark on her back. A crescent moon. The only wolf shifters to receive the mark are the immediate royal family of the Crescent moon Clan. She also has white fur and 90% of wolf shifter nobility have symbolic white fur," Tear mumbled, "If I'm not mistaken, there is only one female heiress meaning this girl is Theridol Tsuki.
